    Right now the slug changing isn’t working 100% correctly. A bug-fixed, security swept, attribute_escaped BuddyPress 1.0.1 is on the assembly line as we speak.

    Check which plugins are activated on that specific blog and turn them off one by one. Sounds like something is interfering with something else. More than likely some kind of date re-writing or hi-jacking situation.

    bp-core.php Line 912

    Otherwise, there’s only a few places this function gets calls inside BuddyPress, so it would take some tracing back of those functions to see what’s conflicting or what’s causing it to happen.

    Don’t remove wp_footer();

    There are a few ways that have been discussed to remove the admin/buddy bar completely. Check the Developers->Plugins area of this very site to see a few plugins to do this for you very simply and without modifying any core files.

    So far from what I can see of the second release candidate of bbPress 1.0, it looks like integration has gotten better for BuddyPress and WordPress MU, but don’t expect a simple turn-key installation. There are simply too many configurations to not have to dip into the wp-config.php or bb-config.php files a little bit.

    Integration of bbPress1.0 RC2 is essentially the same as the Alpha’s, other than there being a spot to enter the ID of the main WPMU blog. There’s also an extra variable to add to the config files to force the integration method, but I suspect that to be only temporary.

    Once everything becomes 1.0, things will probably make more sense and come more into alignment.

    You can edit the tags from viewing the post itself. Anyone can add or remove tags at any point.

    If you’re talking about the link on the front page to take you to the BuddyPress Trac, that should be working just fine. Where is this link that’s 404’ing?

    Ironically enough, that’s pretty much exactly what I ended up doing. Spent a little time getting close and comfortable with a few hooks and filters and checked out some of the existing WPMU default settings blogs.

    You’re welcome. Flip the switch up top to resolved and we’re good to go until next time. :D

    /%postname%/ alone won’t work, and /%category%/%postname%/ may still be broken also, but I will need to test.

    That’s what I meant. Take all that stuff, and put it at the end of your .htaccess file. Should work like magic then.

    @johnjamesjacoby

    Keymaster

    That’s your problem.

    Take the contents of your .htaccess-dist file, and put that at the end of your existing .htaccess file.

    It sounds to me like you’re installing BuddyPress on a non-MU installation of WordPress.

    BuddyPress only works with WordPress MU.

    Not all of them..

    It’s just the BuddyPress ones. Does your theme have the functions.php that came included with the bphome theme still there?

    Can you copy/paste the contents of your .htaccess file here within code tags? Also, what are your permalink settings set to, or are they still just the default?

    @johnjamesjacoby

    Keymaster

    Schafir, are you by chance using “Deep integration” which includes WordPress inside of bbPress?

    @johnjamesjacoby

    Keymaster

    Are you using the included bphome theme? Which links specifically are or are not 404’ing?

    @johnjamesjacoby

    Do you have an .htaccess file?

    Can you see if you have any Javascript errors on the pages in question? Sounds like an AJAX problem, and those are most often times bugged up by other custom Javascript.

    qTranslate currently has some problems with WPMU and BuddyPress, so unfortunately this isn’t a turn-key solution quite yet. There are a few changes to BP that are patched in the trac, and many changes to qTranslate that need to happen to make this work the way it should.

    This is how I made them play nice together also. As a matter of fact, I commented out that filter entirely with no adverse effects, and instead hooked a few other of the BuddyPress URL making functions.

    I’ll be working more on this tomorrow so I’ll post some details in this same post at that point.

    Corourke, which version of BP are you using?

    Thanks for the report.

    Proves once again that BuddyPress alone works fine, but sometimes plugins don’t play nice.

    So far WP Super Cache and qTranslate are the two white-screen causing culprits in the past two days.

    David Mekersa, if you can find the topic, Burt has started development on this now; it’s called BP Contents and is currently in the very early stages of development.

    Freaking Wildchild, the topic you’re linking too doesn’t exist.

    Also, the “Inactive” thing is a forum bug at the moment.
