Six years later(!) I’ve run into this same privacy issue. Just curious, are you still using BuddyPress and did you ever find a solution?

I’ve had no luck debugging this. It seems the no-cache response header is being set in two places:

1. /wp-includes/class-wp.php:760 > nocache_headers() (this seems to be WP core not recognising the member profile URL path (e.g. /community/directory/john-smith/)
2. /wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-core/bp-core-catchuri.php:613 > bp_do_404() >…

Just following up on this previous query. We had dialogue with Mediapress which we use too. They’ve replied outlining the query though ultimately lies in BuddyPress settings. See below fore reference:

Just a couple further thoughts about this, since you guys are re-thinking it:

If you really want people to get into the right sub-forum, why show a long list of topics in the first place? If they’re browsing, they’ll click an interesting-looking topic, and then end up posting their own question in whatever category they find themselves in (or…[Read more]
