In reply to: Adding menu items to the admin bar
Thanks, I’ll give that a try
In reply to: Adding menu items to the admin barAh, thanks

So some form of that just goes into bp-custom.php, then?
In reply to: Web Shop or E-Commerce with BPAre you guys wanting the main site of a WPMU install to be the shop, the child sites to be their own individual shops, or both?
I use eShop on my site (http://www.clothunderground.com), which I use on the main site to sell terms for child sites, and then the child sites also use eShop to sell their own stuff. I think eShop is listed as being WPMU compatible, but I’m using it on WP 3.0.1 in multisite mode just fine.
I know this is going to sound idiotic, but…which part is the value? $blog_id and $post_id?

In reply to: Adding menu items to the admin bar@alanchrishughes: Thanks for the reply

Is there any way you could pastebin the code? It looks like the forum may have mangled it a bit.
@nuprn1: eek! That gave me this error about entry.php:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_DOUBLE_ARROW in path/stuff/here/entry.php on line [whatever line the double arrows were on, lol]
I just did a happy dance in my chair over being “very close”

OK, I’m gonna give this a try, wish me luck. I hope I don’t have to start messing with switching the blog:
Thanks guys

@nuprn1: I *think* I understand what you mean, but I’m not quite sure how I’d implement the code changes you posted. I’m leaning my way around this stuff, so here’s my comical stab in the dark so that you don’t feel like I’m just asking you to do it for me! I’d really appreciate further guidance (because I know that my changes are way wrong, lol!)
In reply to: Adding menu items to the admin barAnyone have any code for adding a small graphic (linked) to the admin bar? I don’t want a dropdown menu, so I’m not sure if the code mentioned on pg 1 of this thread would work for me…

In reply to: Something like “Yahoo! Answer” possible? They’d just be normal WP posts in this case, but You could just create a few custom page templates and link to an “Q&A Home” in your header or something.
In reply to: Something like “Yahoo! Answer” possible?Sounds like something I would do using a combo of a custom post type (“Questions”), a comment rating plugin of some sort (for the “this was the best answer” functionality), and maybe custom taxonomies (status (open/answered), categories, tags, etc.)
To clarify, the post in the custom type would be published by the question asker, and people could answer by commenting.
In reply to: ClothUnderground.com – ”Launching” TomorrowAdded a modified version of the groups widget that displays group avatars for the groups a member belongs to (the top 10 most recently active) on their profile, directly under their user avatar. Hovering over the group avatars shows the group name and number of members in the tooltip

I’ve also recently added a “mark as favorite” link (in my case, a small heart graphic) next to the title of all posts sitewide (except those tagged as blogs or galleries) to allow members to “favorite” items in the shops. Currently looking for code that would allow me to display the top X most favorited item posts in my main site sidebar, if anyone knows how to do that!
In reply to: I Could Kiss You.In my cloned version of the groups widget. I got it, though
In reply to: “My Favorites” Plugin@danhay: I’d love to use your code for how many people have favorited a post, but I’m not sure if the BP forum has mangled it or if it really is supposed to start with “=”?
Also, anyone have widget code or anything that would return a list of the top X most favorited posts for display in my main site’s sidebar?
In reply to: ClothUnderground.com – ”Launching” Tomorrow@shifra: thanks so much! I appreciate any traffic I can get right now
In reply to: I Could Kiss You.@hnla: Oh, I figured the CSS out on my own, thanks

My issue now is trying to exclude certain groups from display. Grrr.
In reply to: I Could Kiss You.LOL I figured that title would turn a few heads.
In reply to: Need Help Cloning/Modifying the ”Groups” Widget@hnla: eek! And no, I’m sorry, I hadn’t tried that yet. Off to do so now. Thanks for replying again!!
In reply to: Need Help Cloning/Modifying the ”Groups” Widget@hnla: thanks for the reply

I only have a few minutes before I need to leave for the afternoon, but if there’s any possible way you could have a look at these, I’d really appreciate it! I’m at my mind-scrambled point with looking at the code myself.
Here’s my member-header.php, including the newly widgetized area, and the functions.php in question. Getting rid of the div that contains the new sidebar area next to the member avatar solves the issue, so I’m thinking that the problem lies in my functions.php where the widget is actually created.
member-header.php: http://pastebin.com/pPHjwdxF
functions.php: http://pastebin.com/FW7yTbXTIn reply to: Need Help Cloning/Modifying the ”Groups” WidgetLoving talking to myself here, lol!
OK, so I moved on from the exclude thing for a moment and decided to go ahead and place my widgetized area into member-header.php. I totally thought I had this part down, but apparently not

Anyone know why widgetizing an area like I have in this code would create an “unexpected $end” error for the last line of member-header.php (which happens to be “do_action( ‘template_notices’ )”)?
And yes, I did register the widget and the sidebar area in my functions.php. I’m able to successfully drag my new widget into the sidebar of my site and it works flawlessly there.
In reply to: Need Help Cloning/Modifying the ”Groups” WidgetOK, that is obviously NOT correct. Help?
In reply to: Need Help Cloning/Modifying the ”Groups” WidgetOK…no exclude parameter, I’m guessing, since I can’t find an ID# for a group?
I have the group tags plugin installed and was wondering if I could maybe exclude certain groups via tag? I have this, but I’m just guessing at the php syntax and whether I have the right function from the group tags plugin:
In reply to: ClothUnderground.com – ”Launching” TomorrowHmmm…thanks. Maybe I’ll ask if she can show me a triangular version
In reply to: ClothUnderground.com – ”Launching” TomorrowThat does, actually! I’m involved in a trade right now with a graphic designer, so I’ll ask her what she could come up with as far as individual graphics for “shop” “sell” and “connect”. Great Idea! She did the grungy take on the recycle symbol that’s up there now, so maybe she can come up with little icons in the same style

Thanks for the feedback, and good luck with your site!
