    Yes, but that blocks it from even being recorded to the DB, which is messing with my main page “featured” post functionality. I need blog posts from the main site to be hidden from everywhere, but not completely gone, KWIM? I figure that there MUST be something that can be done on the template level to just not display them.

    Hi guys! I noticed that people actually like the system I rigged up, and that all my previous links were broken, so I tossed this together:

    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/the-somewhat-ebay-esque-feedback-system-for-wpbp?replies=1

    It’s a .zip file containing a step-by-step instruction readme for implementing the whole shebang (though I think I forgot to specify adding a “feedback” template), as well as current copies of all plugins used. Hope that helps!

    Any other CSS tricks to get rid of the “reply” link on activity replies? I tried the above, as well as the following, and the little bugger just won’t go away!

    `.acomment-reply .bp-primary-action {
    display:none; !important
    }`

    Well that’s not terribly intuitive, is it? Thanks ;)

    Thanks again gentlemen (I’m ASSuming you’re all men, if not, I apologise!) I tried both methods, but ended up gpong with the one laid out by @aljuk :D

    Thanks guys!

    @modemlooper: at the risk of seeming like a total idiot, does the code in your pastebin link go between php open/close tags? To be honest, I’m not quite sure at all what to do with it *blush*

    Thanks for the help! Not sure if this was the intent, but tossing your 2nd snippet into my main style.css seems to have done the trick :D

    Alrighty, after lots of headache, I think i have the activity in between the sidebars and looking OK. Now I just have the admin bar width issue to figure out :/

    Thanks guys!

    OK, so…took my page.php and inserted the appropriate code that makes permalink.php tick, without disturbing the page.php sidebar/div/footer structure. Everything that uses my page.php template displays perfectly, but this is what I got for my efforts on permalink.php:

    http://www.riotcart.com/members/justbishop/activity/4346

    I’ve been sitting here all morning moving div openings/closings around, adding/deleting divs, fighting the urge to toss my monitor out the window, etc., but I cannot for the life of me get the activity to fill the space between the sidebars! At one point (I forget how), I did have it between them, but the actual activity was squished so narrow that everything was all jumbled up on top of itself and unreadable. Dragonfly (Opera’s version of Firebug) tells me that the activity is surrounded by the “padder” div, which is set to 525 px wide. I tried c&p-ing the entire padder CSS and adjusting ONLY the width, but that pushed the right sidebar down underneath everything else.

    I know it’s more of a CSS issue than a BP issue, but any help/suggestion/direction is appreciated!

    ETA: and why the poop won’t the admin bar go all the way across on this template?!

    Tried to implement this, but I’m wondering if the code was mangled a bit on the post that @nahummadrid linked to. It doesn’t seem to want to work for me.

    Did anyone ever come up with a solution for this? Was a plugin created or anything?

    Just to be clear, I’d like the profile updates posted by members in the “What’s new, soandso?” text area to be truncated when shown in the sitewide activity stream.

    Well, I’m trying to show sitewide profile updates only, on my site’s index page, but I only want one. Here’s the code I have on my index page template now:

    Also, if anyone knows how to collapse replies to activity stream entries, I’d welcome that info too :)

    @onyx808 thanks, got it! Is there anything I can add to it to make it display only the ONE latest update?

    @justbishop

    @onyx808: would your code work for my situation? I want to display ONLY profile updates (stuff posted to the “What’s new, x?” text area) on my sitewide activity page, but I want members individual feeds to continue to display everything (profile updates, blog posts, joins, etc.)

    Yeah, I just hope I can get this one to a point where I stop making major changes, lol!

    Yeah, my projects never really feel “done” because I’m always finding something to do, lol!

    Hi, I run RiotCart :) Just wanted to pop in and say that I’m no longer using the BP groups component for anything but a private group/forum for my vendors. If you’d like to see the working parts of the site (which is in the midst of an overhaul, so be kind), you can do so here: http://www.riotcart.com

    I personally think that WordPress is a great platform for running an online shop, and have set up many standalone ecommerce sites for individual crafters using it in conjunction with my personal favorite shopping cart plugin, eShop. This is actually what led to the idea for RiotCart, which is more of a venue for crafters to set up a shop/site in the RC network, rather than a shop in itself. The only thing that RC sells is the monthly shop hosting terms. We use Buddypress more for the shoppers themselves, as it gave me a starting point from which I’ve implimented a p2p feedback system, a “wishlist” feature, and more. I’ve tried offering members the BP groups several different times, and the concept never seems to take off.

    I know, I’m running out of chances on this one, aren’t I *blush*
