Ok. just checked, and just noticed YAPhotoblog plugin is good to WP 2.9.2 only. To resolve issues with that plugin, you should go to WP.org forums https://wordpress.org/tags/yet-another-photoblog?forum_id=10#postform use same username and password to log in there.

Deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress and change theme to bp-default theme. Activate other plugins one by one and then your custom theme which I believe needs to be updated.
