I read somewhere that @r-a-y might be adding support for other media to the oembed for BuddyPress plugin.

There’s a premium plugin, BP Gallery which can post images, audio, video to activity stream in addition to the regular single user and group galleries.

When you network activate BuddyPress, one of the widgets which comes up for use is the “Recent Sitewide Posts” widget which you can add to a dynamic sidbar of a BP-compatible theme. The list of recent sitewide posts rendered in sidebar has direct links to the subblogs where users have published their posts.

Curious, did you get your username and login here at BuddyPress.org or at WordPress.org – don’t know if it makes a difference. I got mine at WordPress.org years ago and I can login to different WP/BP tracs.

BP Gallery (premium) = images, audio and video albums for single users and groups

Preventing graphics upload during registration process is also an additional measure of security, even a little. Some jpg or jpeg images can contain viruses which can infect your whole installation.

Clothes retailers I’ve seen in passing using WordPress install e-commerce plugins with or without BuddyPress. Upgrade to latest version from @svenl77 and co. – http://themekraft.com/theme/custom-community/ v 1.7.0.2 and see if that fixes it.

EDIT – Also, download BuddyPress, unzip and re-upload manually to plugins folder i.e. via FTP or cpanel

Change theme to bp-default theme. Clear cache. If this works then you have to contact custom theme developer.
