– https://codex.buddypress.org/user/buddypress-components-and-features/AS for the BP Component links in your main menu, use the custom menu in your WP theme and add whichever links you want to main menu.

@mercime replied to the topic buddypress page content not being ouput in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 11 years, 4 months ago
@myironlung3 Switch to Twenty Twelve theme and check if BP content is showing up. The issue ight be that the theme is using proprietary templating system so it’s not rendering BP content. Have you contacted theme developer for assistance in getting the_title and the_content working in your buddypress.php file? Could be that just using the template…[Read more]

@mercime replied to the topic Activity streams page are showing to other membe but not to administrator in the forum Installing BuddyPress 11 years, 4 months ago
@rajeev-jain So to be clear, you cannot see you Activity Stream pages when you’re logged in? I can see it fine. You should be able to deactivate the BP plugins except BuddyPress and social login plugin without any issues. Back up database first if you’re unsure so you can revert to old database if there’s any problem.
To avoid stressful upgrades…[Read more]

@mercime replied to the topic The name of the database for bbPress in the forum Installing BuddyPress 11 years, 4 months ago
@doollard just to be clear, BuddyPress is a WordPress plugin, and so BP uses the same database as your WP installation. Therefore:
– You can install BP in your first WP installation where you used DB prefix wp11_
– You can also install BP in your second WP installation where you used prefix bp77_Now if you mean that you want to run one WP/BP…[Read more]

@louieknows most WordPress themes have custom menus where you can add any page menu yourself. What theme are you using?

@mercime replied to the topic Dashboard panels in the forum Third Party Plugins 11 years, 4 months ago
@bloodveil Thanks for clarifying what you meant. Site Admins posting in BP forums are looking for front-end solutions e.g. http://buddydev.com/plugins/buddyblog/ to prevent users from accessing/going to the wp-admin area at all. So your post was unexpected π
Populating the dashboard with posts of friends is not an easy task and would require…[Read more]

@mercime replied to the topic The name of the database for bbPress in the forum Installing BuddyPress 11 years, 4 months ago
@doollard something’s getting lost in translation.
– By “database wp11”, do you mean your database prefix is wp11?
– WP/BP versions? bb-config.php is old school BP internal forums. Are you trying upgrade to latest WP/BP versions?
– Confused with “buddypress install the database bp77” and with a few lines after “but buddypress in the database…[Read more] -

@rajeev-jain As you know, the Administrator should be able to see everything in the site. Have you gone through any basic troubleshooting like deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress and bbPress? Did you make any revisions to BuddyPress core files?

@mercime replied to the topic [Resolved] BP default theme deleted? in the forum Installing BuddyPress 11 years, 4 months ago
@jloc14 just to be clear, you should have these files https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/1.8/bp-themes/bp-default inside the bp-default theme folder in your server. If you don’t see all those folders and files, then re-upload BuddyPress manually, i.e., via s/FTP.
If you have child theme of the BP Default theme, then you should…[Read more]

@blastblast see how https://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+create+a+development+site+wordpress
Testing/upgrading WP or plugins in a dev (development) site is less stressful than testing/upgrading WP or plugins on production/live site especially when you have a BP site π
