@agreenmail @agreenmail I was using the Twenty Twelve theme when I made the tutorial “How to Join a Private Group” around a month ago in this page https://codex.buddypress.org/user/buddypress-components-and-features/groups/how-to-join-a-private-group/

@freddy34 BuddyPress/WordPress versions? What theme are you using?

@jcollier Tested your site registration in IE 10 and getting the same issue. Made a Responsive child theme in my test install, used default page template for register and had no issues registering/activating new account.
Could be the custom template used for register page – noticed that there’s “Posted in” text just before footer in your…[Read more]

@jpc-solutions Thanks for posting back with the culprit plugin. Glad you have this resolved.

@mercime replied to the topic How to get notifications about new topics in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 11 years, 5 months ago
@midexsoftware you can allow users to post anonymously in bbPress forums in Settings > Forums. As for notifications for each change in the forum, there’s no setting available by default. You could post at bbpress.org/forums/ for more assistance.

@mercime replied to the topic [Resolved] Blog page exists, don't want Blog page. in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 11 years, 5 months ago
@benjino blog page has got nothing to do with the bbPress plugin’s settings (Settings > Forums – not discussions). Clear your cache because I see no /blog page in your site.

@agreenmail I see the request membership button in all private group screens. BP/WP versions? What theme are you using? Change to Twenty Twelve theme and check if the request membership button is present in your private group

@jpc-solutions what have you done so far to resolve this? Have you tried changing to Twenty Twelve theme or BP Default theme to check if it’s a theme conflict? Have you deactivated plugins batch by batch except BuddyPress to check which is causing the issue?

@mercime replied to the topic Child vs Stand Alone Themes in the forum Requests & Feedback 11 years, 5 months ago
@dswd what hnla said. Currently, if it’s a BP in multisite, I use BP Default child themes throughout 🙂 Might change it in future, but for now it’s working great.

@mercime replied to the topic Child vs Stand Alone Themes in the forum Requests & Feedback 11 years, 5 months ago
@dswd depends on the project. If you’re creating a WP theme and want to make it compatible with BuddyPress, simplest requirements are: the_title() and the_content() and using jQuery which comes bundled in WP. That’s it. BuddyPress is compatible with nearly all WordPress themes.

@mercime replied to the topic Friends and friend request pages not found in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 11 years, 5 months ago
@dorfman No, the issue is not a common one at all.
– Go to Settings > BuddyPress > Components and make sure that the Friend Connections component is enabled.
– Change to Twenty Twelve or the BP Default theme.
– If those are still missing, then re-upload BuddyPress manually e.g. s/FTP. -

@naplpm BuddyPress components are rendered using the default layout of your theme’s page.php file. https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/theme-development/a-quick-look-at-1-7-theme-compatibility/ More leeway in template layouts come BP 1.8

@rickkumar you can post an enhancement request in BuddyPress Trac. Heard that @sbrajesh is coming out with a BP Pages plugin sometime this month or next.

I wish to change the number of forum topics displayed on a page.
@koreancandy Are you using bbPress forums plugin or not? Are you on single WP install or did you create a Network/multisite?

@mercime replied to the topic Compatibility Help Please!! in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 11 years, 5 months ago
@wpgoddess Yes, it will be good to know what the dev comes up with revised buddypress.php. Double-check that the_title and the_content are there. Good luck.

@mercime replied to the topic Compatibility Help Please!! in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 11 years, 5 months ago
@wpgoddess There could still be a way to salvage the situation with your premium theme. Open up your theme’s page.php file and Save As > buddypress.php file. Ask your theme dev that we need the_title() and the_content() in buddypress.php and that will facilitate compatibility process. Upload that revised buddypress.php into your theme folder in…[Read more]
