@jamie771 there’s a similar but not the same issue posted in another thread and the common factor seems to be Contact Form 7. To eliminate other possible issues, have you tried deactivatig plugins except BuddyPress and changing to Twenty Twelve theme to check if issue is resolved?

@rairai-ni no problem with the number of plugins, there are those which have much more installed. There’s a similar but not quite the same issue posted recently and the common plugin is Contact Form 7. Just to make sure that there are no other conflicts, have you tried deactivating Gantry Framework/BuddyPress and changing to Twenty Twelve theme?…[Read more]

@mercime replied to the topic [Resolved] change "primary" field title in the forum Installing BuddyPress 12 years, 8 months ago
@caspergrimaldi I’ve changed/edited the Primary Field Name in two installations, one with custom BP Default Child theme and the other with Twenty Twenty Twelve theme and both are working fine. Try deactivating plugins one by one or batch by batch to check for conflict.

@bakelady 🙂 Thanks for posting about the conflict with the User Role Editor and private groups.
But I still need to find out why ‘contributors’ are not able to add blog posts and events
Contributors should be able to submit a post from the backend (wp-admin) but it will need Site/Super Admin to approve and publish the post.
