Save file.
B. CREATE a blank file and Save As > sidebar-buddypress.php
Do not add anything in it.
You’re welcome. Glad you got it working.
This is not a service. Just volunteer work
@svenl77 Thank you as always for your prompt response. Cheers.
@stefan83 I see no reason why the revisions you’ve made to your other BP template files and applied to register.php won’t show up. Can you post the codes for your theme’s page.php and the revised code you have for your register.php file in respective pastebin.com pages?
I agree with giannisff, you need to increase contrast of text and background in main menu. Nice baby blue background for content area
@marutim I need the code for precontent.php file as well. Heads up – Initial scan shows that you will have to revise 16 BP template files from the folders transferred to your current theme in server.
@zortex decision time. Either
a) create two (2) files only -> but the title of the BP pages won’t look like the titles of your other pages http://flexfit.mintithemes.com/sidebar-right/
OR
b) revise sixteen (16) files from BP template folders transferred to your active theme in server -> the page titles in BP pages would look like the ones in rest of site
I would opt for (a). Which one would you like for all your BP pages?
@juanmaguerrero I like it a lot. It would be helpful if you added where the beaches are located in the description or a small map and add blue to the background for the ocean – but that’s just me. Even so, it looks fun in your neck of the woods
Albums +1 And this one’s a winner for me http://www.soysurfista.com/miembros/detrompeta/album/my-galleries/variaditas/220106_10151147965381259_839494292_o Just love it.
Check this out https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-group-reviews/
Site URL? Need to see what’s going on.
Theme demo URI or Site URL?
@bomio You can use BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG https://codex.buddypress.org/developer-docs/bp_enable_multiblog/
Reminder, spirituell.ws should also be using a BP-ready or BP-compatible theme
@jacques24 site url? Need to see what’s wrong.
Can you go to Appearance > Themes? If not, I would re-upload WordPress manually. If you created WP via webhost script — fantastico, softalicious, etc — then I suggest you start from scratch and install WP manually https://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress#Famous_5-Minute_Install
If that doesn’t work, please start a new topic as this thread deals specifically with the Sahifa theme compatibility with BP.
I don’t have a copy of the premium theme. If you also cannot change the menu generated in the theme’s header.php then you should contact theme developer/vendor to make the changes, probably in functions.php file.
C. COPY footer.php and Save As > footer-buddypress.php file
Open up sidebar-buddypress.php and at the very TOP of the file above all other code, add:
`
jQuery(document).ready( function() {
if ( jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).length && !jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).hasClass(‘show’) )
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).toggle();
jQuery( ‘input#signup_with_blog’ ).click( function() {
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).fadeOut().toggle();
});
});
`
Save file.
C. Upload header-buddypress.php, sidebar-buddypress.php and footer-buddypress.php to your theme folder in server wp-content/themes/minimosity/ in the same directory where your regular header.php and sidebar.php files are
D. Final note: Copy the style modifications for some BP elements https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/3/ and paste those at the bottom of your theme’s stylesheet, then adjust to taste.
== adjusting custom themes to use BP has become somewhat of a service on this forum but we look forward to 1.7 dropping ==
@hnla it was more of a mission on my part to do this lightweight work on the front end while you guys do the heavy lifting on the back end
And yes, I am looking forward to BP 1.7
== however this is really making me feel sad ==
@zeecc don’t feel sad. Initial scan shows that we might be able to get away with creating only 3 files instead of revising 16 template files. I say this because if 3 files don’t work, we have to go the 16 files route. Having said that, I’m 99% sure the 3 files will do it for your theme.
We will create three new files, header-buddypress.php, sidebar-buddypress.php and footer-buddypress.php to make your theme compatible with BP.
If you’ve revised any of the BP template files transferred to your minimosity theme folder in server during the BP Compatibility process, please delete the 6 BP folders transferred to your minimosity theme folder in server – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /members, /groups, /register – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility again to make sure that you have clean template files.
A. COPY your theme’s header.php and Save As > header-buddypress.php
Open up header-buddypress.php and at the BOTTOM of the file, below other code contained within, add this:
`
Save file.
B. CREATE a blank file and Save As > sidebar-buddypress.php
Do not add anything in it.
@cristian-mihai Initial scan shows that you might only need to create 2 files for BP compatibility. What’s the name of the theme? Theme demo URl? Need to double-check.
== What I need, is, to put the Members, Activities, Blogs, Forums, … from Buddypress installed under wandlungen.org also under spirituell.ws. ==
@bomio Are the users/members in spirituall.ws the same users/members in the main site?
Did you want to enable members of spirituell.ws to post to e.g. Forums of main site in spirituell.ws or do you want to have a separate BP installation for spirituell.ws?
Btw, did you use the Domain Mapping plugin to point spirituell.ws to http://spirituell.wandlungen.org?
@nicholmikey You can make a WP theme compatible with BP by installing/activating the BP template pack plugin and go through Appearance > BP compatibility process.
– the process at a glance with some “template-packed” WP themes near bottom of page https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
– a recently “template-packed” artisteer theme https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/bp-compatibility-plugin-with-an-artisteer-theme/
The plugin author did not enable the Plugin’s Group Forums in this site. You can post support questions straight in plugin’s WP forums. Go to https://buddypress.org/community/groups/events-manager/ and click on the Support tab/link.
B. COPY sidebar.php and Save As > sidebar-buddypress.php file
Open up sidebar-buddypress.php and at the very TOP of the file above all other code, add:
``
Keep the file open, and at the very BOTTOM of the file below all other code, add:
`
jQuery(document).ready( function() {
if ( jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).length && !jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).hasClass(‘show’) )
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).toggle();
jQuery( ‘input#signup_with_blog’ ).click( function() {
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).fadeOut().toggle();
});
});
`
Save file.
C. Upload header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php to your theme folder in server wp-content/themes/themorningafter/ in the same directory where your regular header.php and sidebar.php files are
@hnla BP 1.7 after Xmas/New Year break I hope
@jacques24 You only need to create two new files, header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php to make your theme compatible with BP.
If you’ve revised any of the BP template files transferred to your themorningafter theme folder in server during the BP Compatibility process, please delete the 6 BP folders transferred to your themorningafter theme folder in server – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /members, /groups, /register – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility again to make sure that you have clean template files.
A. COPY your theme’s header.php and Save As > header-buddypress.php
Open up header-buddypress.php and at the BOTTOM of the file, below other code contained within, add this:
`<?php
global $woo_options;
get_template_part( ‘top-banner’ );
?>
Save file.
@platzenderhirsch check out https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/events-manager/ which has BP support.
