Then, in each of 16 files, you’d like to change the BP Templates’ page title’s header tag from `
…
` or `
..
` to `
// Titles Of Respective BP Page Templates //
`
Save files.
@formbi You add the code yourself https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/adding-dynamic-link-to-main-menu-item/
Or use https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-profile-menu/ if you’re using bp-default or child theme of the BP Default theme.
== I installed and activated BuddyPress after importing all the content from my previous CMS and none of the posts show up in the activity stream for the appropriate member. ==
Because those Posts/activities were done before BP was activated, BP was not able to “record” those posts in the activity stream. New posts from this time shall be recorded in the sitewide activity stream as well as respective members’ activity streams. As for the plugin updates, it’s up to the plugin developer.
The theme looks familiar. Looks like JS conflict. Have you tried deactivating plugins except BuddyPress to identify the culprit. If deactivating other plugins doesn’t resolve the issue, I suggest contacting theme author.
I answered in the other thread. Of course you could always start a new topic. Do provide a URI to the page with the troublesome button.
== If a member is part of a public group, but is not a group moderator or a group admin, and starts a new forum topic (using bbPress 1, not bbPress 2)… can they sticky and edit their own topic? ==
a) Tested regular member – can only edit topic but cannot make it sticky.
b) Found a possible bug when I was logged in as Admin of site but not Group Admin nor Group Moderator
– Created and Posted the new topic = e.g. “Testing Paul Gibbs Issue” with url http://example.com/groups/the-godfather/forum/topic/testing-paul-gibbs-issue/
– Make the topic Sticky = click on Sticky
– The Post was reposted for some reason and made sticky, now two topics in forum and one is sticky with url http://example.com/groups/the-godfather/forum/topic/testing-paul-gibbs-issue-1/
Check if you have permalink.php in server wp-content/themes/clearline/members/single/activity/ folder
You’re welcome. Marking this as resolved
Glad it worked out well for you. Marking this topic as resolved
Re comment button issue you brought up in other post -> URL of page where issue appears. If it requires login, provide testuser username and password.
@mahdiar we’ll address the comment button issue in that thread but I had assumed you fixed it per your post “I found the answer . I copy new files in bp-default theme to my own theme .”
B. At the bottom of the same 16 files, replace:
`
`
with the following (except for registration/register.php):
`
`
with the following for registration/register.php:
`
jQuery(document).ready( function() {
if ( jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).length && !jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).hasClass(‘show’) )
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).toggle();
jQuery( ‘input#signup_with_blog’ ).click( function() {
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).fadeOut().toggle();
});
});
`
Save files.
C. Upload the 6 BP folders containing the 16 files you’ve just revised to your server wp-content/themes/zenon-lite/
D. Copy the style modifications made in BP Twenty Ten at https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/3/ and paste to your theme’s stylesheet. Adjust to taste.
@waiyea As mentioned above, you need to change 16 template files within the 6 BP folders transferred to your zenon-lite theme folder in server during the compatibility process.
If you’ve previously changed any of the BP template files in your zenon-lite theme folder in server, replace all of them for a clean slate by deleting the 6 BP folders – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /groups, /members, and /registration – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility.
Download the 6 clean BP folders to your computer hard drive.
A. At the top of each of those 16 template files I linked to above, replace
`
with the following:
`
Then, in each of 16 files, you’d like to change the BP Templates’ page title’s header tag from `
` or `
` to `
`
Save files.
No problem
@brandonecarr per error
“bp_dtheme_ajax_querystring() (previously declared in /…/wp-content/themes/Mikmag/core/buddypress/_inc/ajax.php:17”
it looks like that Mikmag theme is already BuddyPress compatible, i.e., you shouldn’t install BP Template Pack plugin with this theme.
– Deactivate BP template pack plugin
– Delete Mikmag theme as some files might have been corrupted if you went through Appearance > BP Compatibility
– Re-upload clean version of Mikmag theme
– Contact Mikmag theme author if you have any issues after going through the Installation Wizard after activating BuddyPress https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/setting-up-a-new-installation/installation-wizard/
@aronprins if you’re going to sell that theme for $44.95, you should allow the prospective buyers to check out the different features of the theme without having to log in and giving you their email addresses. There are other places they can buy BP themes where they can check out the merchandise first.
You have to provide more information, especially about your installation. WP/BP versions? What theme are you using? Are the issues corrected if you change to bp-default theme?
I can see that you have no other plugins installed. “Are you sure … ” is related to WP/BP security issues/nonces. Have you tried
– clearing browser cache, history, etc. or restarting your computer or just using a different browser?
– download BuddyPress from WP plugins to hard drive then upload unzipped BuddyPress plugin folder manually i.e. via FTP/cpanel/file manager etc to wp-content/plugins/ ?
– download WP and do a manual upload the unzipped wp-admin and wp-includes folders?
Use `img.avatar` to target all avatars and `img.user-1-avatar` to target admin’s avatar. What exactly are you trying to do and where?
add_filter( 'wp_nav_menu_items', 'my_nav_menu_profile_link' );
function my_nav_menu_profile_link($menu) {
if (!is_user_logged_in() && $args->theme_location == 'footer-nav' )
return $menu;
else
$profilelink = '<li><a href="' . bp_loggedin_user_domain( '/' ) . '">' . __('My Profile', 'buddypress' ) . '</a></li>';
$menu = $profilelink . $menu;
return $menu;
}
@waiyea I see that you’ve created a child theme of https://wordpress.org/extend/themes/zenon-lite
Looked over zenon lite, this is to let you know that you will have to change 16 BP files transferred to your zenon lite child theme folder during the Appearance > BP compatibility process. I see that the parent theme’s default page.php has right sidebar, then you also have page templates for sidebar on the left and full-width page. Which among the three layouts did you want for all your BuddyPress pages?
@helen-kh No, you do not have to install bbPress plugin if you only want forums for groups. For more information about Group or Sitewide Forums -> https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/
If you’re using Firefox, get the Firebug add-on and right-click on the elements you want to change. Place the revisions in your theme’s style.css file, or better yet, the style.css file of the theme’s child theme so those revisions won’t be overwritten when the theme is updated.
Go to your profile page and change “Name (required)” to something other than your username.
