Then, in each of 16 files, you’d like to change the BP Templates’ page title’s header tag from `

` to `
// Titles Of Respective BP Page Templates //
`, AND move title to above `
Save files.
@twc01 Initial scan shows that you need to revise 16 BP template files. If you still want to proceed, open up your theme’s header.php file with a text editor, copy all, paste in pastebin.com, click submit and post the generated URI here. Do the same for your theme’s page.php, index.php, sidebar.php and footer.php files.
@fiq I hear where you’re coming from. I appreciate the fact that you care about what happens with BuddyPress as the reason you’ve have been posting in the different threads. You have some good ideas there. We all need to keep common courtesy alive here in the forums even when others get tough, demanding, oppressive or condescending. Good ideas can get vetoed all the time depending on project requirements, you know that. If the way the idea was vetoed was not civil but brusque, then forgive those who did so and let it go.
As for the Codex, those have been volunteer efforts from the core devs, forum moderators and some active and generous members of the BP community. All are welcome to contribute to the Codex.
@All no bad words here, those have been edited, Stay cool.
@tomelk31 Per my check, the submit button is floated right in your site’s register page. However, this page and your other BP pages show that you still need to complete Step 3 of the Appearance > BP Compatibility process, i.e., fixing alignment for BP template files transferred to your WP theme folder.
Merci @chouf1 🙂
B. At the bottom of the same 16 files, replace:
`
`
with the following (except for registration/register.php):
`
`
with the following for registration/register.php:
`
jQuery(document).ready( function() {
if ( jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).length && !jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).hasClass(‘show’) )
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).toggle();
jQuery( ‘input#signup_with_blog’ ).click( function() {
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).fadeOut().toggle();
});
});
`
Save files.
C. Upload the 6 BP folders containing the 16 files you’ve just revised to your server wp-content/themes/catch-box/
D. Copy the style modifications made in BP Twenty Ten at https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/3/ and paste to your theme’s stylesheet. Adjust to taste.
@ed161718 You need to change 16 template files within the 6 BP folders transferred to your catch-box theme folder in server during the compatibility process.
If you’ve previously changed any of the BP template files in your catch-box theme folder in server, replace all of them for a clean slate by deleting the 6 BP folders – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /groups, /members, and /registration – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility.
Download the 6 clean BP folders to your computer hard drive.
A. At the top of each of those 16 template files I linked to above, replace
`
with the following:
`
<article id="post-” >
Then, in each of 16 files, you’d like to change the BP Templates’ page title’s header tag from `
` or `
` to `
`, AND move title to above `
Save files.
@sciencefiction68 this topic is specific for the alignment of the Catch Box theme for ed161718. Please start a new topic, copy over what you’ve posted above and I’ll help you there.
== BuddyPress Components do not have associated WordPress Pages: Activity Streams, User Groups, Members, Activate, Register. Repair ==
@tgnwsauctions Click on repair https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/configure-buddypress-components/#settings-buddypress-pages
Make sure that Pages are associated with the BuddyPress component
BuddyPress requires “pretty permalinks”, i.e. Settings > Permalinks is set to other than default setting. mod_rewrite must be enabled in your server.
@uhchurch there’s no problem. If you already have users in your WP installation for a while and just installed/activated BuddyPress, then those users need to log in at least once with BP activated in order to be “recognized and recorded” by BP. There’s a plugin – BP Disable Activation plugin – which worked before, but not sure if working on current BP version, check it out.
@newbie2011 first of all, congratulations on fixing alignment of your Members Directory page for Step 3 of the BP compatibility process
The difference between members directory page from the activity page was that the div surrounding the content for members directory was `
So either you change the div in all the remaining BP template files from `
Btw, initial scan of your theme shows that you have the option of creating on two files, header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php, to make your theme compatible with BP instead of revising the 16 BP template files transferred to your theme folder in server. FYI.
@hepdoll glad you resolved this on your own
The instruction was included in the plugn’s Installation instruction “Activate BuddyPress in the “Plugins” admin panel using the “Activate” link. You’ll then see a message asking you to complete the BuddyPress Installation Wizard, which will guide you through configuring your site for BuddyPress”
Also, for those who might land on this page from search -> https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/setting-up-a-new-installation/
@k12onos just to clarify, are you referring to the Group Forums (internal custom bbPress) or to Sitewide Forums (bbPress plugin)
If you saved database before upgrading, then install the WP/BP versions you had working with that DB and import the database to the installation. Then deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress and change to Twenty Eleven theme before upgrading WP/BP to current versions. Activate bp-default theme after the upgrade and check everthing is working before activating plugins (which you should check if compatible with latest BP/WP versions before activating).
If you only saved database after the upgrade, then that’s a different story. I do hope you backed up DB before upgrading.
@chouf1 will you do the honors of creating the ticket for this issue?
== login/register links in the toolbar to the right side instead of the left? ==
@flq I see these on the right. what theme are you using? or have you resolved this already?
@ploupas cool. Thanks for letting us know
@zillabuggs to troubleshoot further, is this a new install or was it upgraded from BP 1.5+? If it was upgraded, was it working properly before the upgrade? Are you on single install or Multisite? If multisite, is BP activated in main site or secondary site?
@mariareh64 to make your WP theme compatible with BP, you need to install the BP template pack plugin and go through Appearance > BP compatibility process. If you need assistance to fix alignment for Step 3 of the process, start a new topic with name of your theme as well as codes (post in pastebin.com) of your theme’s header.php, sidebar.php, index.php, page.php and footer.php and post the generated URL’s in your new post.
== When I click on a comment that I am notified of in an email (the link in the email) it goes to a blank page with only the header of the website ==
@radmacdaddy if you’re using a WP theme with BP Template Pack plugin, make sure that you have fixed alignment in all 16 BP template files. If all else fails, change to bp-default theme and check if issue is corrected there.
@botane looks like you’ve fixed the issue, the page looks just fine. What was the culprit?
@nitestop please start a new topic for the html code showing up in your pages and give steps so we can replicate the issue.
Yes, thanks @r-a-y
You would normally add the code in your theme’s functions.php file
