In reply to: 1.9 Update Killed My Site
@hughshields Thanks for letting us know what the real issue was. Good luck.
In reply to: Top WordPress toolbar: Second level dropdowns blank@ofloveandbeauty thanks for the screenshot. That menu is not generated by BuddyPress. It’s more like it was generated by another plugin which probably needs to be updated by the developer.
In reply to: 1.9 Update Killed My Site@hughshields What theme are you using? What plugins are activated?
In reply to: Activity Meta Buttons show up Vertically@mixtapela Your link leads to a login page. Do provide a throw-away account username and password so we don’t have to register to assist you.
In reply to: BuddyPress widgets not showing upI have created the buddypress sidebar in the themes settings.
@queertownabbey per layout of all your BuddyPress pages, the default page.php layout is full-width. Since we don’t have access to the premium theme, will refer you to examples of we’ve added sidebars to pages which are full-width by default at https://codex.buddypress.org/themes/bp-theme-compatibility-and-the-wordpress-default-themes/ specifically with the Twenty Eleven theme
In reply to: Activity Meta Buttons show up VerticallyI previously had the “BP Compatibility Pack” without knowing that I didn’t actually need it for the new BP version. Could that plugin have cause the issue at hand?
If you mean the BP Template Pack, then yes, you don’t need it. I would delete that from the plugins page. If you already ran the BP Template Pack with your theme activated, then remove the BuddyPress folders which might have been moved to your current theme in server namely: /activity, /blogs, /forums, /groups, /members, and /registration
In reply to: Activity Stream, Register & Members page Fail@abses91 the platform theme has a proprietary templating system which could have caused that issue. You’d need a simple buddypress.php file in your site’s theme folder which includes the HTML structure you want for all your BuddyPress pages along with WP loop with wp_title and wp_content. On another note, wasn’t there a plugin to bridge the platform theme with BP? Have you tried checking out or posting at the platform theme’s forums to see if others have experienced the same issue and if they have resolved it?
P.S. RE plugin bridge – that was for another theme.
In reply to: Groups LinkBuddyPress has been deactivated in your site. Could just be a theme conflict. Next time, check BP with on of WP default themes.
In reply to: Customize member page@learningeveryday from what I gather from your original post, you want a way for members to publish a blog post from their profile pages, right? Check out http://buddydev.com/buddypress/introducing-buddyblog-allow-users-to-blog-from-their-buddypress-profile/
In reply to: BP Member's Profile in Theme issue@wkolcz You created a child theme of what parent theme? Have you checked out https://codex.buddypress.org/themes/theme-compatibility-1-7/a-quick-look-at-1-7-theme-compatibility/ ?
In reply to: Top WordPress toolbar: Second level dropdowns blank@ofloveandbeauty Don’t you need Genesis Connect for BuddyPress plugin anymore for your StudioPress theme? Have you checked out StudioPress forums if others have resolved the same issue?
In reply to: group activity not showing – nothing showing upBut all of a sudden nothing works.
WP/BP versions? Theme used, plugins installed? https://buddypress.org/support/topic/when-asking-for-support-2/
In reply to: BP 1.9: empty html pages – error 500 solution@frueck24 Fixed in https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/5299 in upcoming BP 1.9.1.
@mdpane thanks for posting back. Marking your topic as resolved.
In reply to: cant create new topic (and) reply@wolfied deactivate the Ajax Search Pro plugin and check if you can create new topic and reply. jQuery 1.7.1 was not coming from theme but from that plugin, sorry missed that in initial scan.
In reply to: [Resolved] Registration endless loop-cannot register@petdailypress Thank you for posting back 🙂
@mdpane @airsid Fixed in https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/5299 in upcoming BP 1.9.1.
In reply to: [Resolved] Registration endless loop-cannot register@petdailypress Glad you resolved it on your own 🙂 For the sake of those who might find themselves in the same situation, what caused the endless loop? Plugin conflict or something else? Cheers.
In reply to: Register Page Blank after UpdateUpgraded to 1.9 and the Register page is suddenly blank.
Blank as in the whole page is blank or do you mean there’s no content under the Register title?
Have you checked Settings > BuddyPress > Pages to see if there’s still a page assigned to the Register section? In reply to: Moderate changes in member profilesNone at this time.
In reply to: Page layout and sidebar issues@ecoportaluk Did you install https://wordpress.org/plugins/genesis-connect-for-buddypress/ or have you checked out StudioPress forums re BP customizations?
In reply to: Profile Link On Navbar@emcdaniel09 Wait for BP 1.9 which will be released tomorrow. All BP-specific links can be added easily to any wp_nav_menu in Appearance > Menus.
In reply to: cant create new topic (and) reply@wolfied You need to update your theme. I just noticed you’re still using jQuery 1.7.1 in source view while the theme’s demo rightly shows jQuery 1.10.2
In reply to: cant create new topic (and) reply@wolfied Could be theme or plugin conflict. Change to Twenty Twelve theme and check.
In reply to: 404 msg on my site.@marya521 Check admin menu Settings > BuddyPress > Pages and see if the Activate has a page assigned to it. https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/register-and-activation-pages/
