In reply to: Help In Configuring WP Super Cache
This is not a BuddyPress issue and better addressed at WordPress.org forums – https://wordpress.org/support/forum/plugins-and-hacks
1. Themes
Current gallery/media plugins (free and paid) compatible with BuddyPress use the bp-default theme structure. So either you create a custom theme that’s a child theme of bp-default theme or be prepared to customize any other WP theme or custom BuddyPress theme to work with the gallery plugin’s.2. Image storage
Images are physically stored in your server for some gallery plugins. Other BuddyPress-compatible gallery plugins require you to store your images in their servers and make you pay for extra storage.In reply to: bp_members_signup.php== HOWEVER, in the version of BuddyPress running on our site (version 1.2.5.2) I can’t find any directories named bp-members/ at all! Have I gone mad? Has it been moved somewhere else? ==
`/bp-members/bp-members-signup.php` is one file of the very new BuddyPress Members component. Therefore the folder is not even in BP 1.2.8 and only currently available in BuddyPress trunk at this time https://trac.buddypress.org/browser/trunk
In reply to: Install Multisite1. Recommended steps
a. Install WordPress
b. Create a network (i.e. multisite) https://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network,
c. Resolve any multsite issues first https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/before-installing/ at https://wordpress.org/support/forum/multisite
d. then install BuddyPress https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/setting-up-a-new-installation/2. Portugese, doesn’t look to have much support
WordPress – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_in_Your_Language
BuddyPress – no Portugese submitted at https://codex.buddypress.org/developer-docs/translations/In reply to: Budddypress Groups On Specific SubdomainsYou can install BuddyPress on main site or secondary blog https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/install-buddypress-on-a-secondary-blog/ but the groups created follow the URL structure from where you set it up.
You can however allow a blog per group in subdomain structure, https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-groupblog/ but I haven’t tested it lately.
Backup first before attempting changes – and no guarantees it will be easy
BuddyPress 1.2.8 only contains a few changes all…In reply to: problemas con los mensajes pribadosThank you Google Translate

Hola.
Saludos.
== required wordpress.com account for this to WordPress.org? ==
No, WP.com account is not required to install WordPress. You should know this as I’ve seen some of your posts at WP.org
=== multi-users functionality of WordPress 3.1 is similar to multi-blogs(multi-sites)? ===
Not exactly. A single WP site can have multiple users. When you https://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network, you can create many sites with one WP installation. [edit] And each site in the network can have a single user or multiple users, it all depends on the set up.
For more information, post in Multisite forum at WP.org – https://wordpress.org/support/topic/welcome-to-the-multisite-forum?replies=2
Good luck.

https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/In reply to: Show Categories in tabs and drop down menus at top?===== TO SUPPORT WP 3 MENUS FOR BP 1.2.8 =====
1. Create a child theme of bp-default https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/building-a-buddypress-child-theme/
2. Create a functions.php file in your child theme and add this:
`<?php
/* https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/add_theme_support#Navigation_Menus */
add_action( ‘init’, ‘register_my_menus’ );
function register_my_menus() {
register_nav_menus(
array(
‘primary-menu’ => __( ‘Primary Menu’ )
)
);
}/* Removes ul class from wp_nav_menu */
function remove_ul ( $menu ){
return preg_replace( array( ‘#^- ]*>#’, ‘#
$#’ ), ”, $menu );
}
add_filter( ‘wp_nav_menu’, ‘remove_ul’ );?>`
3. Copy over header.php from bp-default theme and paste into child theme folder.
4. Replace line “ or the whole navigation block with code below:
`
false, ‘menu_class’ => ‘menu’, ‘theme_location’ => ‘primary-menu’, ‘fallback_cb’ => ‘display_home’ ) ); ?>`
Adjust according to taste
In reply to: Increase font sizeIt’s in bp-default/_inc/css/default.css where body has font-size of 12px.
To change, recommend you create a child theme https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/building-a-buddypress-child-theme/ and make the change thereDo post your .htaccess file here – something might have gotten messed up there.
In reply to: Forums Bug: There are no posts for this topic.@munman Did you enable mod_rewrite on XAMPP?
Hello. See *Info Before Activation* at the bottom of readme.txt included in plugin folder which is not seen in WP repo pages https://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/bp-group-frontpage/trunk/readme.txt
I personally haven’t used the plugin since it requires BP Album plugin.It wasn’t automatically listed in BuddyPress.org plugin directory because plugin dev forgot to “tag” it BuddyPress in plugin file
In reply to: [Resolved] Buddypress with WPMUYou’re welcome. At this time, BuddyPress can only be activated once in either the main site or a secondary blog of a WP Multisite installation.
In reply to: [Resolved] Need little help!Good for you it was this simple
In reply to: [Resolved] Buddypress with WPMU=== 2. I setup two sites (the main site and a testing site) using sub directories. ===
BuddyPress default blog when you activate it is in main site http://yoursite.com.Therefore, if you installed WP 3.1 in domain root i.e. http://yoursite.com/, created a network, created a subsite http://yoursite.com/testing, and you want to test BP in this subsite, you need to follow this instruction https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/install-buddypress-on-a-secondary-blog/
In reply to: [Resolved] Need little help!1. Deactivate all BP plugins except BuddyPress. Activate BP Template Pack only.
2. Re-run Settings > Permalinks
If that doesn’t work, post the content of your .htaccess file here.
In reply to: rudevibesDo give the correct URL. The one you posted leads to nowhere.
== I thought all of that was supposed to be under /wordpress/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/members ==
That would be the folder where template files of bp-default theme is located.
If you installed WordPress in /wordpress folder and activated BP in main site then yes, the default url for members directory would look like …/wordpress/membersIn reply to: advanced Group & groupware functionalityIn reply to: WP Multi Network for WordPress 3.1?@johnjamesjacoby territory
You can only install BuddyPress in a self-hosted WordPress blog, i.e. WordPress.org
In reply to: Running on one blog in multisite network…@JaffyDesigns there is only one wp-config.php per network/install which inlcudes the main site and subsites created from same install.
== other non-BP sites will behave like normal WP installations (i.e. so I can theme them independently, etc.)? ==
Yes, definitely.
