Twenty Fifteen its the same thing (O selected) shows up in boxes on smaller screens
Im running KLEO 3.0
I have changed the text in new po and mo files uploaded it to proper folder and nothing has changed.
I am confused by this, This example uses en_US as the sample language definition, and thus buddypress-en_US.mo is the name of the language file you will create. You’ll need to replace ‘en_US’ with the locale of your WordPress site.
So the two file names should not be named
buddypress-en_US.mo
buddypress-en_US.poIs this the same for everyone using English or is it different for every user? Perhaps thats why its not working for me.
THanksi’m suggesting a new feature and asking for a fix somewhere else, not really duplicate post imho
Yes I did, it does not work on mobile unfortunately.
Also, links to author and other associated with this plugin lead to “spam” type of sites which do not give me much confidence in using it.
I realize there is a plugin for this, but it has not been updated in a while, and once you block someone you still stay on their friends list.
Let me re-emphasize that Buddypress is awesome, but because its so awesome these little things which I would take for granted, simply stand out, at least to me an end user.
Perhaps our perspectives are different and you guys are looking at it from coding standpoint, I do not, Im the end user and I am comparing buddypress to everything else out there.
The only sites using just username are dating sites and perhaps some forum sites, sites where specifically people do not want to reveal their identities. If someone is running that type of a site than there are no issues.
However, if I want a full name, I need at least two fields, username and then something for the full name, and ideally 3 fields, username/first name/last name, and that is weird, out of hundreds of sites I have signed up for I have never had to enter a username and name, that simply makes no sense for someone signing up, its confusing. For you guys who deal with buddypress for years perhaps its normal, but its not when you look around at everything else.
Another thing is the avatar upload, again I dont think I ever encountered another site where I wasnt able to upload an avatar on registration. It may make sense from coding stand point or something else, from end user standpoint it makes no sense.
Just my 2 cents, I love buddpress and thanks for your help as always.
99% of people out there care about end functionality more than URLs, how does facebook solve it, -1-2 -3 is fine, and you can look at pictures if there are few with same name. Buddypress is a great product, no doubt about it, but it seems to cater to family style community where everyone knows each other, which probably explains lack of a basic function of blocking another member for example.
I am not the only one who complains about usernames, if you go back on these boards people have been talking about inconvenience of this system for a long time. The same goes for avatars, I dont care what some of the guys here tell me, you need at least an option to have avatar upload on registration.
That should not be an issue whatsoever with 2 John Smiths, two should should up and you click on whichever one you want. Most people I know actually deactivate the activity system. When they message the private message by clicking on profile, most communities are not the type everyone knows everyone, its actually the other way around, those types are in minority and buddypress seems to cater to them.
Its actually a very simple solution, implement an option, with username and another one first and last name.
username is required, users cant change it.
Its a one field entry, so people tend to enter a nickname.Usually its first name, last name.
So now, everyone has username and then either a full name field or first and last name fields, so either 2 or 3 fields related to names… and then its weird, people ask why multiple fields for related entry
this is for RT media I believe, not the profile. at least it was in my case.
ah I created forums through groups I have to edit them now to change that.
Thanks again!Hi, this is amazing, I have been looking for something like this for a long time.
How would I block forums for guests as well however?I added this code… || bp_is_forums_component()
but forums are still visible to non-logged in users, any ideas?
Thanks!Im using field type – multi select box for my registration questions.
So far example – Gender Male/Female. On desktop I see Gender box and those two choices Male and Female, on mobile, to save space I guess, I see the Gender box but there are no choices in the box, instead of male and female I see “0 selected” and that is also true for everything else, location – I have about 30 cities which on desktop i can scroll down for in the box, but on mobile again its only one line – “0 selected” and then when you click on that a list with all choices shows up, Which is fine, but that particular text “0 selected” gives an impression of an error, I want to change it to just “Select”Actually thats easy to do I see it now, but I am wondering why was buddypress done it in this way, by having one field (nickname) instead of two – first and last names? With nicknames its much more difficult to sort.
Thanks, the issue was caused by

Yes I did to custom structure – /%pagename%
would that affect groups though? In pages I see a group page, so I think thats ok.
By clearing trash, does that mean clearing the cache?
Thanks again
Im running Kleo I do have some plug ins perhaps there are the ones causing this, but that would make no sense at all, so this is not a standard thing on BPress?
somehow I wrote set to private I just noticed, they are all set to Public viewing.
