awesome!
In reply to: get rid of create a group buttonin your theme folder /groups/index.php
find the <h3> at top replace with
<h3>
<?php _e( 'Groups Directory', 'buddypress' ) ?>
<?php if ( current_user_can( 'delete_others_posts' ) ) : //only admins and editors can see this ?>
<a class="button" href="<?php echo bp_get_root_domain() . '/' . BP_GROUPS_SLUG . '/create/' ?>">
<?php _e( 'Create a Group', 'buddypress' ) ?></a><?php endif; ?>
</h3>This will show the button for only admins. You can still create groups if you go to the url.
In reply to: How to include any file.php via a hook ?If you want to include another side bar you can do it like this in the theme files
<?php locate_template( array( 'sidebar-left.php' ), true ) ?>See been so long since I’ve dealt with IE6 I forgot LOL
In reply to: How to solve the problem of alignment in practice?I actually have this theme and looked at it and its so easy to convert. I think most of you are over thinking the process.
Here is the top of the BP forum index page looks like
<?php get_header() ?>
<?php do_action( 'bp_before_directory_forums_content' ) ?>
<div id="container">
<div id="content">See the container and content? these need to match your theme exactly. On your theme it looks like this:
<?php get_header() ?>
<div id="content" class="col-full">
<div id="main" class="col-left">So to fix it you need to merge these into this:
<?php get_header() ?>
<?php do_action( 'bp_before_directory_forums_content' ) ?>
<div id="content" class="col-full">
<div id="main" class="col-left">You must do this with the bottom of the page code as well so the footer and sidebar code matches up.
BP forum index page bottom code:
</div><!-- #content -->
</div><!-- #container -->
<?php locate_template( array( 'sidebar.php' ), true ) ?>
<?php get_footer() ?>Your theme code:
</div><!-- /#main -->
<?php get_sidebar(); ?>
</div><!-- /#content -->
<?php get_footer(); ?>In reply to: How to solve the problem of alignment in practice?Why do you have all those widgets in the footer? Remove those then we can see whats going on.
One problem is in the css you have the content height at 400px.
max-width
In reply to: Reply-comment on Forum-postsIn the admin you can turn off commenting on forum and blog posts in the activity stream.
In reply to: Request to all developers and plugin writersOne problem I have is when plugins style thngs like
<p> <a> and <h2>Let the template style these things. That way the plugin fits into sites better. Code for structure let the theme style the elements.Please do NOT include support for IE6 in core. We need to move on. It’s like painting your car when the bottom is rusted out.
really weird but try and change the name of that image
In reply to: Changing BuddyPress Page TemplatesYou could do it other ways but if you just want the BP components placed inside your current theme the plugin is a easy way to do that. However, you still may need to adjust CSS.
In reply to: Customize the navigationhttps://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/exclude-pages/
Adds a checkbox on each page in admin to allow you to exclude pages from nav.
In reply to: Changing BuddyPress Page TemplatesThats not the right way to do it. You will need to use some of these files.
Plugin here that guides you through it
https://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
Thats weird. It should not give an error if the structure is intact.

Did you create a style.css and activate that child theme?
I tried using addClass and it did not work for me.
EDIT: miss coded works great
In reply to: SocialGo vs. BuddyPressI create themes for SocialGO. It’s a robust hosted social networking solution. If you just want to pay a reasonable monthly fee and have someone else handle the backend it’s a good choice. They are currenly working on V2 of their platform that will allow more customization.
Two things SocialGO has that BP does not. Media (pics/videos) and privacy controls. You can add these options via plugins.
In reply to: How to control spam registration?Use captcha, have one profile field be required and change the slug.
define( 'BP_REGISTER_SLUG', 'name-this-something-unique' );oh and if you are on WPMU then you need to disable the ability for blog owners to add users via their admin section. This is an easy way for spammers to get entry.
You need to do what Xevo said. upload this page to your wp-content/themes/whatever theme
Add a new page in the WP admin. When creating page in the right side bar choose rpx page as page template.
<?php
/*
Template Name: rpx page
*/
?>
<?php get_header() ?>
<div id="content">
<div class="padder">
PUT YOUR CUSTOM CODE HERE
</div><!-- .padder -->
</div><!-- #content -->
<?php locate_template( array( 'sidebar.php' ), true ) ?>
<?php get_footer(); ?>In reply to: help with custom theme breakageThats what I said

First glance at this and the HTML seems wrong and might be difficult to fix with CSS.In reply to: Buddypress iPhone theme updateEither it works with both same as BP default works with both.
In reply to: help with custom theme breakage“What has me running a mile is seeing empty div elements with class=”clear”
Thats mainly what I’m talking about.

All I have to say is I’m getting a serious BP theme education from doing this project.
