In reply to: help with custom theme breakage
First glance at this and the HTML seems wrong and might be difficult to fix with CSS.
The left sidebar should be inside the same container as the activity stream and the right sidebar. Looks like its inside the same container has the widgets across top.
Basically you are trying to put a square inside a circle.
Another thing I want to point in general. If a theme has .fix or .clearfix all over it. Then run the other way.
In reply to: Need help locating the activity-header codeI guess I’ll just delete
<?php bp_activity_action() ?>and add my own code
In reply to: Need help locating the activity-header codeNeed some help with this. I’ve located the code in ajax.php to edit the activity comment meta. Problem is I don’t want to fudge with core. I copied files over to child theme but BP doesn’t recognize this file in the child theme. I’ve changed this code yet it does not reflect on the page. What am i missing?
Code:
<div class="acomment-meta">
<?php echo bp_core_get_userlink( bp_get_activity_user_id() ) ?> · <?php printf( __( '%s ago', 'buddypress' ), bp_core_time_since( gmdate( "Y-m-d H:i:s" ) ) ) ?> ·
<a class="acomment-reply" href="#acomment-<?php bp_activity_id() ?>" id="acomment-reply-<?php echo attribute_escape( $_POST['form_id'] ) ?>"><?php _e( 'Reply', 'buddypress' ) ?></a>
<a href="<?php echo wp_nonce_url( $bp->root_domain . '/' . $bp->activity->slug . '/delete/' . bp_get_activity_id() . '?cid=' . $comment_id, 'bp_activity_delete_link' ) ?>" class="delete acomment-delete confirm"><?php _e( 'Delete', 'buddypress' ) ?></a>
</div>In reply to: Widget areas for Groups, Forums, etc@aronel Thats easy to do just create new sidebars for each and then create functions for each of those sidebars.
sidebar.php
sidebar-groups.php
in your groups theme folder switch out the code that calls sidebar.php and add sidebar-groups.php
You can also do this and create new zones on pages / slugs. Say at top of groups directory you want to have featured groups avatars. Easily done with widget zones.
In reply to: Buddypress iPhone theme update@Xevo kinda a mixture, a Thapp? LOL
It’s not an app, users will not have to download anything. There will be two versions a free basic version and a premium with options.
@Gpo1 you cannot upload to the web from an iphone so creating photo galleries will not work. The only way to get images onto a site from an iphone is through a native app that allows upload access or by emailing. Any plugin that can work and has good support will be made to work with the premium version.

In reply to: Widget areas for Groups, Forums, etcIt’s similar to facebook. Updates are more important than adding friends so those type of actives are smaller.
In reply to: Donations on BP.org, what do you think?Freemium is so last year. That biz model does not work anymore. People should be paid for their plugins whether it’s premium versions or for help with customization. If the plugin has value and its got solid support you will have no problem selling it.
In reply to: Donations on BP.org, what do you think?Yikes! read the comments on that link and I fell like I now have guns pointed at my designer head : |

In reply to: new version of BuddyPress Rate Forum PostsI suggest the profile Post Rating: be placed under the avatar. It’s a bit wonky and hidden where its at.
In reply to: Make your own custom BuddyPress pageYou should post how you fixed it in case others have same issues.
In reply to: Is this a plugin?It installs like a plugin but will take over your site theme as you need to active the BP theme to get the functionality. If you want to use your own theme please read this.

In reply to: Reorganize Activity Feed to magazine styleYou can do that now by creating a child theme.

In reply to: BuddyPress.org Group FunctionalityIt’s broken til Andy switches this site to 1.2
In reply to: Buddypress iPhone theme updateWell if its hacking core I don’t want to do that. That would cause headaches on updates. Still deciding on how this app will work. May kill some of the filters. It’s a bit much to use on mobile.
What are the necessities?
In reply to: Buddypress iPhone theme updateI’ve managed to get iui kit working with it. It’s a significant leap from a basic theme to actually looking and acting like a native app with sliding navigation. iui was used to build the facebook iphone app.
Though I have to rework the entire navigation structure.
Choose BuddiPhone as the name.
In reply to: Problem with styleYou changed the code from and <h3> to and <h2> for the .widgettitle change it back to <h3>
You have added margin-left and margin-right to content .padder Remove those and place them on .content
In reply to: wp-super-cache strategyIn reply to: URL ShorteningOne point your missing about url shorteners is most are used for tracking. Sspeaking of semantics, the url services are now allowing custom urls.
In reply to: Hide main theme from usersRE-install on single WP or you could just turn off blogs in the back end.
In reply to: Buddypress iPhone theme updateRuh Ro! I better get busy and finish this theme http://mashable.com/2010/03/03/comscore-mobile-stats/
