In reply to: Theaded comments and BP 1.2 Defuault Theme??
Turn on threaded comments in WP admin >> discussion.
CSS, adjust accordingly.
ol.commentlist .children {
margin-left: 30px;
}
In reply to: Need help locating the activity-header codeYeah saw that but I wanted to exclude certain parts of this. Not sure how.
In reply to: Editing home pageBuddypress pages are not listed in the admin. To edit those you need to make a child theme.

If you want to make additional pages you can via admin like you do any normal WP blog. Admin >> Pages >> add new
If you know how to make wordpress page templates you can create anything you want and then in admin >> settings >> reading choose your custom page as the static front page.
In reply to: Buddypress iPhone theme updateI tried jqtouch and uikit and both had some JavaScript conflicts with some plugins.
bp-custom.php is just a file you create on your own. It’s not included in by default.
In reply to: Setting Roles for Registered UsersWhen users sign up to BP they are only subscribers.
DJPaul already answered you. There is a problem installing in a subfolder called blogs.
try changing slug
define( ‘BP_BLOGS_SLUG’, ‘blogs’ );
https://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/customizing-labels-messages-and-urls/
Try creating a page called news and in the admin >> setting >> reading choose a static front page and the news page as a blog page. Like DJPaul said using a subfolder called blogs is a problem.
In reply to: Buddypress iPhone theme updateMaking it work on default install then will add in support for some of the plugins. Tweetstream, Oembed and Gallery. Not sure how that will work as they have their own theme files.
You can look at the start of this theme. I have it activated on test site. I have only been working on activity stream.
In reply to: Buddypress iPhone theme update@Andy or anybody who may know.
Where in the theme files can I edit the code for an activity post that says where and when with the view and delete links. I don’t see this anywhere.
admin commented on the blog post Layout Test 3 hours, 25 minutes ago View DeleteI need to relocate this if I can.
In reply to: Theaded comments and BP 1.2 Defuault Theme??This is probably missing from the header.php file
<?php if ( is_singular() ) wp_enqueue_script( 'comment-reply' ); ?>In reply to: Buddypress iPhone theme updateYeah I like buddiPhone
In reply to: Wire 1.2You guys keep saying it should be more like FB and I think it is like FB. You log into facebook what do you see? An activity stream of your friends status updates. Go to your profile what do you see? A stream of your status updates with the ability to reply to those updates.
You could create your own plugin to make a ‘wire’
In reply to: Adding functions.php to theme breaks siteYou can add a functions file to a child theme it just can’t have the same functions as the default one.
In reply to: Difference Between Using WordPress and WordPress MURight now the difference is having more than one blog. Other than that BP is no different.
If you want user blogs use MU.
In reply to: Remove Sidebar from Custom TemplateYou want to remove the sidebar from all BP pages but not the regular WP pages and blog posts?
This requires creating a child theme and editing all the BP pages and removing the php call. Or, you could remove everything in the sidebar.php file and then adjusting the css to make the sidebar width 0px.
The facebook patent will never hold up. It’s more to protect their exact sequence of events in a news feed. It has nothing to do with posting something on a web site.
Apple has a patent for touchscreen technology and so do others. Apples / oranges
In reply to: new plugin: BuddyPress Rate Forum PostsThe plugin adds a th to html for the +1 next to each forum post but doesn’t add the matching th to forum labels to even it out. People may not know who to fix this.
<th id="th-rating"></th>EDIT: this maybe a css prob in the default BP . I see the code for adding cells to the forum list but when you do it fudges the forum header leaving a whitespace.
Just noticed on WP single 2.9.2 BP 1.2.1 When this plugin is activated it breaks the sidebar toggle on the options in the admin.
In reply to: Default theme with widgetized home pageNo not at all. This theme was just a quick help for people who were on BP 1.1 to upgrade to 1.2 and not loose the default widgetized page. You would need to code a second sidebar your self for core pages.
In reply to: Wire 1.2Its the same as it was just go to a persons profile and click the mention this person button then post, that person will be notified.
It really is no different than before. The wall is now called @ Mentions on your profile.
In reply to: Wire 1.2Oh facebook got ride of the old wall as well. It’s now more like twitter now. I think people are freaking out by not being able to go an post on the actual persons wall when in reality BP 1.2 has made it even easier by using mentions.
In reply to: images in child-theme ?if an image is called in CSS then you will have to override the default CSS in a child them and point to image in child theme folder.
You could just replace the default images but then when you upgrade they would be replaced.
In reply to: Wire 1.2You cant post on somebody’s activity stream. Well you could @ them and it would show on their @’s same thing just different method
In reply to: Single Blog WP BuddyPressThis is a much requested feature. It may be in future versions of BP. There are a few plugins that may fill the gap. Posthaste, todo mini forms or gravity form.
In reply to: Members and uploading PicturesIt’s not a free plugin though and still in development but it has great potential.
