At top on menu admin page click screen options and make sure ‘BuddyPress’ is checked
In reply to: add_theme_support breaks buddypresswp_dequeue_style(‘buddypress’)
In reply to: add_theme_support breaks buddypressjust leave buddypress.css blank if you want to kill all bp styles from being loaded by the plugin. You could also deregister the css file from getting loaded
Template overiding works in same manner as the css file.
In reply to: add_theme_support breaks buddypressremove those, you don’t have to add anything to a theme. Was there a reason you thought to add this?
To override css create a css folder in your theme folder and copy over the buddypress.css file from /bp-templates/bp-legacy
Then edit the buddypress.css file in your theme folder
In reply to: returning a formatted phone number? In reply to: is_page() does not work on BP pagesThis will probably get fixed in 2.0 version
In reply to: No BuddyPress pages workare you using a BuddyPress theme?
In reply to: is_page() does not work on BP pagesBP overrides WP a bit. If you use
bp_is_current_component('activity')it works on BP pages. This is something that needs to be fixed now that BP uses any theme. In reply to: Beware of the 1.9 update! It was probably a theme issue. The easel theme hasn’t been updated in a few months and could have broken with current version of WordPress.
Instead of posting alarmist warnings it is better to post the issues incase others encounter the same thing.
In reply to: BP 1.9 defaults to empty html pagesThe best solution is to phase out bp-default from your sites or ask your theme developer to convert their bp-default derived theme to a WordPress theme.
In reply to: Notifications tab seems to break siteTemplate files for notifications missing and will be included in next update.
This code is just a start, I did not test to see if field groups will break it but you can get an example of spitting out fields as an object array variable on profile load and then using the variable to get the values instead of requesting each time.
put this in bp-custom.php
// creates global object array from profile fields function bp_profile_fields_array() { global $fields; $fields = array(); if ( bp_has_profile() ) : while ( bp_profile_groups() ) : bp_the_profile_group(); if ( bp_profile_group_has_fields() ) : while ( bp_profile_fields() ) : bp_the_profile_field(); if ( bp_field_has_data() ) : $field_name = bp_get_the_profile_field_name(); $field_value = bp_get_the_profile_field_value(); $field = array( 'field_name' => $field_name, 'field_value' => $field_value, ); $fields[] = $field; endif; endwhile; endif; endwhile; endif; return $fields; } add_action( 'bp_before_member_header', 'bp_profile_fields_array' ); // echoes value of field from object array based on param function bp_get_single_profile_field( $param ) { global $fields; foreach ( $fields as $key => $val ) { if ( $val['field_name'] === $param ) { echo $val['field_value']; } } }Then in your member templates:
<?php bp_get_single_profile_field('PROFILE FIELD NAME'); ?>In reply to: Buddypress Sammy Update Broken?Don’t worry, there will be an update to include the files and bp-default is getting moved out into wp .org repo but bp-default may be deprecated fully in the future.
In reply to: Notifications tab seems to break siteThere will be a 1.9.1 put out quickly to address this.
The reason this is happening is because bp-default was deprecated with this release of BuddyPress and the notifications templates are not included in bp-default. This is your warning to phase bp-default out of your sites. BuddyPress works with almost any theme now so your options are plenty.
get the profile loop and use array variables
In reply to: Notifications tab seems to break siteThose with page doubling, can you switch to the parent bp-default to test if it’s a child theme issue or bp-default in general?
In reply to: Buddypress Sammy Update Broken?Deactivate and Delete BP plugin and reinstall. When I upgraded there was some lost connection error. Maybe files got borked.
In reply to: Buddypress Sammy Update Broken?Try switching to the Twenty Twelve theme to verify if it’s a theme issue. There may be issues if you are using a theme based on bp-default.
In reply to: Notifications tab seems to break siteIf you are using bp-default or a child theme there are some issues with notifications display. Please give at least 24 hours for a fix for this issue.
In reply to: buddypress add field in profil<?php $name = bp_get_profile_field_data('field=Name your main character'); echo do_shortcode ('[armory-character show_title = "0" show_portrait = "1" show_talents = "0" show_items = "0" show_profs = "0" show_achievs = "0" locale = "en_US" region = "EU" realm = "The scarlet Crusade" name = "' . $name . '"]'); ?>In reply to: bp mobileplease use wp .org forums for issues with plugin. This site is for BuddyPress specific issues.
In reply to: bp mobilecreate a page titled mobile and that will be your mobile homepage. add whatever you want in the text editir
In reply to: BuddyPress 1.8.1 and WPtouch 3 ??https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddymobile/
But I’m working on version 2 http://modemlooper.me/buddymobile-2-0/
I know WPTouch 3 has some improvements with only loading it’s own theme and files to lessen the loading times but it’s still the full WP theme getting swapped out for another theme. This is how nearly all the mobile plugins work.
You can edit the BP templates to make them fit into WPTouch or other mobile themes.
In reply to: BuddyPress 1.8.1 and WPtouch 3 ??WPTouch doesn’t load anything less. It is essentially just another theme with a mobile UI. Also, the template files of BuddyPress are not 100% responsive and do not fit perfectly inside WPTouch. You would have to make them look proper.
If load times are slow then it could be that you are just loading too many files. This is an issue on even desktop browsers because more people visit websites from mobile browsers than from a pc now. I suggest you deal with making your regular site more data efficient in addition to serving up a better visual for small screens.
