In reply to: [Resolved] User error mentionDid you install WordPress with a one click type installer from your host or did you upload and create the database yourself?
When you click mention does it go to the post form and put the user name into post form or does the error just show?
Does this happen with or without maintenance mode on?
In reply to: Home Page in BuddyPress site has “not found” errorIn the WP admin Settings > Reading do you have it set to a page or latest blogs? Also try changing permalinks under Setting > Permalinks
In reply to: [Resolved] User error mentionIt could be that Community theme has bad code, can you switch to bp-default theme and check?
In reply to: change “My Account” linkI’m confused, where is this my account link?
If it’s tabs added to plugins there isn’t that option yet. I’m going to add that option later.
If you dont want to wait you can add this code:
`$bp->bp_nav = 100;`
if you have say the BP Album+ plugin and want to change it’s position just change ‘put label name here’ to Album. Then choose a number. I have placed labels at 10 increments. So position 1 is 10 2 is 20. You could place the Album tab at 25 and it would be in-between tab 2 and 3
In reply to: Change default avatartry
` $gender = bp_get_profile_field_data(‘field=Gender’);
if ( $gender === ‘Male’) :`
In reply to: Table of Contents in BuddyPress CodexI think it’s just a sidebar widget containing page hierarchy.
In reply to: Avatar Cropping for AndroidIt’s a completly different approach. It will work like template parts. It’s currently a custom BP-default theme. New version is like a native app

In reply to: Avatar Cropping for AndroidI’m working on a completely new mobile plugin for BP, should be out in a few months. Maybe when BP 1.7 rolls around
In reply to: Avatar Cropping for AndroidThis wont get fixed until WP 3.5 and/or BP 1.7
In reply to: Help with BuddyPress menu itemsThe best solution is to move content to a dev server piece by piece, get everything right and then just trash the current db. BP has come a long way since 1.2 and you don’t need to hack the core as much to customize it.
In reply to: Help with BuddyPress menu itemsDO NOT UPGRADE until you read this: https://codex.buddypress.org/buddypress-site-administration/upgrading-buddypress/

There is a trac ticket to include a login widget since theme compat is killing sidebar code, I took ownership of ticket, I’ll look through other widgets and make markup better add anything missing.
In reply to: Redirecting all member pages to a new WordPress pageyou can change the slug of the members page to whatever you like, then install BP Extended settings and choose option to have root profiles.
So your urls would be
.com/people-teachers…
.com/usernameIf you want to keep .com/members/username then you would need to create a new page and use a page template with the members loop inside.
iOS 6 allows media uploads. So BP Album+ works. Avatar cropping won’t work until WP 3.5.
I added the second check so you can keep settings while turning off that option
It will be supported, I just didn’t have time before to update. If you encounter any problems let me know and I will fix
I’ll post first draft of plugin later today so people can test and see if UX is ok. It has a few quirks because we are tricking WP to use a dynamic URL when only static links can be saved in admin. But I think it’s worth it. Especially with 1.7 theme compat.
I’ve successfully created dynamic links with ability to re arrange menu in admin. We may want to use same technique for user nav on profile page.
crazy menu hacking! As i’m working I’m like WTH is dynamic links not available in WP menus.
Currently trying to get a menu in admin with a Profile item that can be moved around. *bangs head into wall*
Ok, after fiddling with code i’ve created a way to have an admin menu that can be re arranged. I’m going to update plugin with new code sometime tomorrow
