You can add meta to updates and filter that way. Google “add meta BuddyPress activity” it’s been discussed before. You will need php skills for this customization
BP mobile does not affect the WordPress admin. At least it shouldn’t. The theme error is not that important, it’s just a notice and does not affect BuddyPress. You can install the BuddyPress Extended Settings plugin that has a setting to stop that theme notice.
I’m a little confused by your post. Are you saying when you are in the WordPress admin on a mobile device the option to add a featured image is missing from the Add new post page?
Does this occur when using the bp-default theme as the desktop theme?
Are you using another plugins that could cause this?
This should be a new topic but I agree with Roger. I think BP-default should be on WordPress.org. I’ve had on many occasion needed an older version. It also gives users an indication they can use another BuddyPress theme from .org. I would even go as far as not bundling BP-default and only use .org. It’s easier to delete a theme when beginners mess up code and download via .org than to mess inside /buddypress
I will create codex page. We need a discussion about the theme changes in 1.7 so it will be done properly to benefit the community. I know there is talk of using something like bbPress but I have struggled to understand its method and this is not good for designers who are not as good with php
It’s too much work which is why that plugin may not be as good as you want it. What you want will most likey require hiring a developer if you cannot make the currrent plugin work. You want a very “premium” feature.
Any plugin in the plugin link above or from WordPress.org must be released under a gpl license. This license grants anyone the right to take and modify, use and redistribute. So yes, you can edit the plugin all you want.
Did I mention it’s FREE? People spend $5 on a latte. Your getting a full on social platform for zilch. Sorry there are not teams of support. Not really.
