Is there a function to display the only uploaded image. In my case, I need it for when a user uploads an image (only 1 allowed), it shows up in the profile. Any ideas? I really need this.

    Thanks

Well I don’t really want to change the design, I just want to change the structure, what components are on the page.

Awesome suggestions guys, thanks. I am using wpmu and I made it so users cannot create blogs, that should help things bandwidth and ram wise. I will start off with 384 MB ram and gain some users, then I will scale up from there. Should be enough.

I’d have to say that Buddypress is soooo flexible, you can do anything. I’m sticking with BP.

Sounds like a deal, I am not sure though how much ram buddypress needs. Currently I am be hosted by HostGator with no problems and it seems they provide an easy way to scale up and reasonable prices. But yea, it would be great to know how much ram a buddypress site would need and maybe recommended bandwidth.

Thanks, I am thinking about using DreamHost.

Does this mean I am able to use this as a template for my TOS?

@xspringe You are right on, Buddypress should not copy the twitter system. We don’t need another twitter, we want more of a social network such as Facebook, and then we could extend from there. The @mention feature is a great additional feature, how about having a social network centered around Facebook, and then have these cute additions from twitter? Buddypress is very flexible. Besides, who wants another twitter? One is enough.

Wow! That looks awesome! Really, great job! :) Here are some names I thought of:

BuddyPhone, MobileBuddy, BPphone, BuddyGo (Buddypress on the go)

its all really a matter of taste for the name. In my opinion, I think BuddiPhone already sounds great!

bump, I really want to get this wire.

Yea, it is not the same. I am not sure how to go about using the compatibility plugin, I used it on my other theme, but the wire component was still gone. I say we shouldn’t go completely go after twitter with micro blogging and more after Facebook. If anyone has a better idea on how to revive the wire, please post.

Ok this doesn’t seem to work out, I have installed the plugin (Backwards Compatibility), but when I click other links, such as a profile link, I just get redirected back home. Any suggestions?

I’ll try using the compatibility plugin, because many users will get confused with “@” and the wire is a great way to keep in touch. Thanks for your help guys.

That’s not what I meant…I mean’t if you can update the status without clicking the “Update Status” link. So you can just update it right away…
