@formbi, it worked for me like a charm, which theme are you using? you need to write it at the bottom of your style.css . please make sure the page ID is right and dont forget to clear cache after the code.

the code is like ds .page-item-78{ display: none ! important;}

@formbi,The simplest way without code edit or plugin is to use css to hide it. look for the page ID and write something like: .page-item-78{ display: none ! important;} where 78 is your page ID you can hide as may pages as you want by adding a coma

@davidkooo, you can easily achieve that with css by replacing “notification text” witth image icon like facebook and only the number of notification will show on the image.

somthing like: {background:url(_inc/images/alerts-icon.png)center no-repeat transparent !important;text-indent: -9999px;width:147px;height:25px;}

Note: you have to adjust accordingly.

@mercime, that did not help, i am currently using your code, i clear the cache and login as a regular member but the link is still there while you are not on your profile. the code show the link but not while on your own profile alone even when you are viewing friends profile it still show. i dont know what do do again.

@mercime, thanks so much for your help so far, have given up on the button. it looks so rubbish in IE. i dont even check it until you call my attention to it.

But please is there a way to wrap the Edit Profile link which is in the item-header so that it shows on your own profile alone and not when viewing others profile. instead of hiding it under private message button.

The code am using is :

I mean may be a wrap to declare something like if is_ user_profile

@mercime, thanks for your help, i intentionally use the button to overlaps and hides Edit profile link i dont want it to show to you while on friends profile. i have tried your solution before but the problem is that the icon will show but will turn the button background to pure white. thats why i want to use background-image:url instead of background:url. is there any solution to use background-image:url.

padding-left:10px;} but i notice anything background-image has not been working in my child theme.
