In reply to: Adding multiple profiles per memberok thanks.
In reply to: [Resolved] Speeding up buddypressClearly, this is THE one big issue that everyone faces. I agree, thatthere needs to be an official HOW TO for page load speed and performance.
Granted everyone has different setups, but things like manually combining js and css and calling from a subdomain is something everyone should be able to do, if we are shown how.
Hosting: am on the 32gb plan with stormondemand.
In reply to: Adding multiple profiles per member*bump* anyone?
In reply to: BuddyPress Competition is heating upNup. Joomla has so many SEO holes in it, it’s not funny. Even with so called SEO plugins, it is still a horible nightmare.
Bad code, horrible backend…. the user experience is just not a good one.
Anyone comes to me with a Joomla site, I simply turn them away… or sugest they rebuild.
Don’t do it. I signed up then bailed within days. Got a weird feeling. You’ll get a much better deal with Stormondemand.
In reply to: BuddyPress Competition is heating upJoomla sucks. period.

Joomla is the work of the Devil. Say it backwards and you never know just what might happen.

In reply to: changing the core /groups/ and /forums/ slugs?just a couple? Can you elaborate please?
In reply to: changing the core /groups/ and /forums/ slugs?LOL @all
OK, here’s an example, and what I would like to do:
http://www.mydomain.com/community/groups/vegetable-gardening-forum/forum/topic/growing-carrots/
… to become something like …
http://www.mydomain.com/community/vegetable-gardening-forum/growing-carrots/
Is this kind of thing possible?
In reply to: changing the core /groups/ and /forums/ slugs?that;s great, thank you very much.
Do you know if it is possible to have no slug value for things like “groups” and “members” etc?
ie, am trying to move all the really relevant stuff like forum title etc further up the url dir path.
In reply to: Editing Group and Forum page title tagsGiving this a bump: I’d really like to be able to have the page number shown in the title IF the page id > 1.
[topic title] – page no:2
How can I do this please?
In reply to: Adding pagination links to bottom of Group DirectoryThat’s great.
Can you please do the same snippet for forum posts? My install (1.2.
seems to have ajax pagination, and I need real pagination for SEO.Further, how does one include the page number in the meta title tag?
eg “Fitness Forum Page 2”
for me, it was the facebook footer bar that was conflicting…..
In reply to: Cant Crop Avatarsi fixed this by uninstalling the facebook footer plugin – seems it was calling another version of jquery on top of 1.4.2, and I assume this broke it.
I fixed this one too – it is in the /community/ folder, and i just did a find replace in the two relevant fields in the activity table.
In reply to: can’t open fileThanks a lot. Not sure exactly how I fixed it, but did a combination of redoing permissions / ownership and deactivating a bunch of plugins – not sure exactly which plugin it was yet., but thanks for the tips.
In reply to: How to combine js files and cs filesyes, found it i think. Thanks very much.
