Hey guys, had a similar issue with the avatars not getting uploaded from frontend.

The issue resolved itself after updating from Buddypress 2.0.2 to latest 2.1.1

Try using CometChat, been using it for sometime and so far the app has done justice plus theme feature allows you to change you Chat theme like facebook theme , Hangout theme etc

I’ve been using CometChat for a while. Their team is very helpful. You should create a support ticket and I bet they will help you out.

Hi Clara,

Welcome to your adventure with BP! You must be brave to try VPS on your own with no knowledge! I’d never do that 😀

Been using BP since a while and here are some good plugins that come to my mind:

– Sign-up methods: MailChimp
– Video Presentation: VideoWhisper
– Feedback by ratings: Rating-Widget
– Chat: CometChat
– Social Features: Super Socializer
