In reply to: Trying to Clone GroupsYep, you can do that with bpdev-groups-extra for now
In reply to: Trying to Clone GroupsYep, you can do that with bpdev-groups-extra for now
In reply to: Trying to Clone GroupsYou should do that using group metas
i planned, but only planned, to develop a group-type plugin (you could do that with bpdev-groups-extra) where when users create a new group can select the group type without cloning a component.
Why that if i can clone a group component?
Because if the bp groups component has bugs, or will be changed with new features, you’ve to clone the component again..

In reply to: How to change the Favicon<?php
function my_favicon() {
?>
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico" />
<?php
}
add_action( 'wp_head', 'my_favicon' );
?>put it in a file my_hacks.php and put the file in mu-plugins/
put your favicon, in the root directory
Remember:
<?php bloginfo('template_url'); ?>won’t work fine because the template url changes when you’re in pages that use the member themeIn reply to: Request Features – Group PluginThe first is already done http://bp-dev.org/projects/#groups-extra
if needed, http://trac.bp-dev.org/browser/trunk for bpdev plugins

In reply to: bp-Events plugins directory questionto add stuff under the buddyrpess menu in wp admin it’s not needed to keep your plugin in /plugins/buddypress :S
look here from the bpdev-admin.php code
add_menu_page(
'BPDEV Admin',
'BPDEV Admin',
2,
'bpdev-admin',
'bpdev_admin_settings_page',
BPDEV_PLUGINS_URL . '/bpdev-core/images/icon.png'
);
add_submenu_page(
'bpdev-admin',
'All Plugins',
'All Plugins',
1,
'bpdev-plugins',
'bpdev_admin_plugins'
);so, the first create a new item, the second a new sub-item, you should create a subitem like that
add_submenu_page(
'buddypress', <== check this on the code
'My Plugin',
'My Plugin',
1,<= Position
'bpdev-plugins', <= Slug
'bpdev_admin_plugins' <= callback
);put it in a function and
add_action( '_admin_menu', 'my_function_with_my_menus' )In reply to: bp-Events plugins directory questioni really suggest you (for stats and user experience)
to put it in plugins/bp-events/
Then you should add some code to stop it working if bp is disabled,
contact me if needed ( nicola at buddypressdev.org )

In reply to: How to use full name, first name + last namesearch in https://codex.wordpress.org/ , for filters, and user metas
anyway if you’ve never developed with wp code it might be difficult
If you want moderators for wpmu, add new admins or new collaborators to your mu
if you want moderators for group forums, you’ve to add new moderators in bbpress (or vb)
In reply to: How to Uninstall Buddypress?1) deactivate the plugins
2) removing them
3) remove themes
OPTIONAL:
4) Remove wp_bp_* tables
Say hello to BuddyPress
report it in the trac
In reply to: Categorize Blogs + Categorized blog overviewsusing blog metas you could do that
you should add a selectbox (using bp hooks) in the new blog creation form and add available categories
and save that using blog metas (blog_option) update_blog_option( 1, ‘blog_type’, ‘Personal Blog’ )
and after apply a filter to the blog name, like
function my_filter_name( $old_name ) {
global $current_blog;
return get_blog_option( $current_blog->ID, 'blog_type' ) . '
' . $old_name;
}
add_filter( 'look for this hook name', 'my_filter_name', 1 );Nicola
