can you develope in php?

if yes, you could develope a php script that add an action : when a user post someting, it has to be stored in the db,

or searching for a function in bbpress documentation that shows last articles..

i believe that if you knows a bit of php you can do the second one..

Tomorrow i will open http://buddypressdev.org forums and there i will post some lines, if i can with time!

if you don’t want to hack the code, copy and paste the widget’s code in another file called mywidgets.php and put it in /mu-plugin and do the burtadsit’s changes and change plugin’s name in the actions and in the function’s name, if you’re a good developer you can understand what i’ve just said if you aren’t, forget and hack the main code

Hudatorig in your first paragraph you explain exactly what i think..

My idead Profile Blog is always a blog but more integrated with buddypress, and i think each user need at least one blog to use as profile blog..

Maybe that can be useful to understand my idea: Any user has a DEFAULT BLOG that is a profile blog..

No bp-status will be like facebook status.

Yes, user at registration can create their blog, but my ideal “personal-blog” is not a common blog. Imagine facebook, you can update your status adding photo wire and other, for me this is a personal-blog. A blog is something a part from it. A blog is a container where i write others thing. Personal-blog are more integrate blog, I hope I explained myself clear

Yes i think that groups users must have a profile blog.. I think that andy will integrate this when he write down code for bp-status.

Integrate blogs into member-theme is very easy, look for example the post-form of Prologue theme.. i think i will integrate it, but for doing it.. I NEED default profile blog for each user.

I think that it’s one of most important feature that will be added..

I study semantic web.. and we pose at the basic tags and categories. If Groups are not tagged or categorized, pages are not semantics.

Now, what do you (you and others) want ?

Possibilities are that:

The easiest way Profile & Blog: every user must have a blog and each video that they publish is published in his profile, but videos can be found at as his blog, too. (Updating profile & blog publishing a video).

The most difficult way Only Profile: it’s not important having a blog or not, because the video will be published only on the profile

There is a difference of developing time for each way.. The difficult way it’s better but require more time and more finance

Explain what exactly do you want ?

if the only things is integrating that plugin in bp i think i could make it…

Integrating something in sidebar it’s not difficult for me, but i think that integrating videos that generally are published like posts is a bit difficult but not a lot. So, i think i can but i will tell you that tomorrow because now in italy is 03:20 am and i’ve to go sleeping now

bp plugins (except some function and tags) are so similar to wpmu plugin, they are almost the same of wpmu plugins.

Integrate plugin with menus and other it’s difficult but not a lot (for me )..

mmm i think you have to wait next release, but you don’t want do it, you’ve to pay someone that can do that :S and in this time only few people (i think i can) can do a bp plugin, and they ask for an high amount..
