@antonrsa Iv’e got the wpmu dev Content Monitor plug-in, have a look at the plug-in at their site ( http://premium.wpmudev.org/project/content-monitor ) and let me know if it could help you, though I would ask that if you modify the plug-in you release it to the respiratory.
It should be a good base to do what you want to do.
In reply to: Clone Groups so I have ‘/groups’ and ‘/clubs’?@hempsworth what you could try is the group categories plug-in, havn’t had a look at it yet but maybe something to look into.
In reply to: BuddyPress Share It button live@mercime Is this not something to do with wp 3’s menu’s. A while back I installed a theme and the menu’s listed vertically, when they were meant to be horizontal.. Google’d it and found that you had to add the ‘pages’ in a menu in the admin’s menu settings.. Was a while ago so don’t quite remember though maybe this is causing some conflict?
Edit: bleh, just read modemloopers ‘edit’. Soz bout that.
In reply to: can I put the login form in the header?There shouldn’t be a problem having the login-form inside a widget ( side-bar ) as that’s how it is in the bp sidebar ( sidebar.php in bp-default theme ).
Regardless of the above, copy the form code from sidebar.php and insert it anywhere you like ( header, footer.. ), you can contain the form in a div, styling it to suit your needs.
Take note that if you are not using a child theme, your changes will be over-written when you upgrade buddypress. ( https://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/building-a-buddypress-child-theme/ )This should be the login/log out form used in the bp-default theme: http://pastebin.com/gngAD97g
In reply to: Quick Q – link to a websiteAfter a day of searching came across
esc_urlwhich worked like a charm.In reply to: Quick Q – link to a websiteTo be a bit more clear, gwebsite_get_group_website() returns the ‘web site’ correctly as below:

Though using
$link = gwebsite_get_group_website();
when
$group_website = ' '.gwebsite_get_group_website().' ' ;
return $group_website;returns the url as http://localhost/wordpress/groups/example-group/www.example-group.com and not to http://www.example-group.com .
Any idea’s were Im going wrong?
In reply to: Possible with groups?what you could do is use the group blog plug-in, then the group’s associated blog would read as you want ( http://www.domain.com/pepsi ). Maybe have a link from the blog back to the group. One approach..
In reply to: image vs text placementnvm, I found a better solution, calling them in bp_group_header_meta
In reply to: wpmudev plugins just don’t seem to work?The thing I found most irritating with wpmudev is when you want to make a small change to one of their plugins, they mainly say, ” something to look into for the next up date..” which I guess is to keep you subscribed. I have discussed with ‘some guys’ on the bp forum about me releasing some of their plugins, though I would only do it if ppl would help make the necessary changes I asked for at wpmudev but got the “in the next update” solution..
In reply to: Sticky how to’s?cool beans, r-a-y. http://namoo.co.uk/groups/bpcodex-redesign/wiki/ looks like its got potential
Looking over the site, I think a much needed thing is like ‘basic plugins’ that ppl can build off. Like the one’s @r-a-y has helped me out with. Having a base to work off, would have saved me a ton of time, though through trial and error I learned a lot. I know there is the skeleton component but when I started, it was beyond me ( actually havn’t looked at it since, lol maybe I should? ), having a plugin that already does something, which you can build up makes sense to me. Its late so might now make sense
In reply to: How do I add a sidebar to user profiles?Hope this helps

You might also want to check out the “Buddypress Sidebar” plugin: Create multiple sidebars, just name your new sidebar the same name as the Buddypress Component and it will show up when that component is displayed. So you can have separate sidebars for ‘Activity’, ‘Members’, ‘Groups’, etc. You can also name a sidebar the same name as any page and that sidebar will automatically show up on that page. Prefabricated sidebars include Home and Blog. The Blog sidebar will appear on single and archive blog pages.

In reply to: Anyone got BuddyPress Maps working?try out the gpress plug-in, even though its features are a bit advanced for this, they are all/mostly optional and does what you need.
In reply to: how to change the name lables on navigation tabsIn reply to: Login widget like in this website?I think its built into the sidebar in bp-default ( used it a while back ), have a look at sidebar.php. You can copy the code and add the login form to your own sidebar or anywhere else you would prefer..
In reply to: image link in a plugin folder – dev questionBleh.. @r-a-y, soz about that. I did use the same as what you suggested in your above post. Was still giving the error till I created a new group, maybe I should have cleared cache and everything.. ( will def remember now
)Thank you though for all your help!
In reply to: inside group subnav ?@modemlooper if you do find out how to add things to subnav please also post it here as when searching the site for say subnav we could atleast have a helpful result for other ppl and something to refer back to

“Is this for tweeting a group home page?” Yes
In reply to: Login page gone, need help pleasecan’t you edit your header.php, adding the code, then upload the new/edited header.php file via ftp and then you should have a log-in form in your header, shouldn’t need to be logged into your wp..
In reply to: Login page gone, need help please@biteweather maybe try add a login/log out some where in your theme like header to try log in?
In reply to: BuddyPress Tweet Button plugin“nice plugin, only issue I see is that it tweets the URL of the page you are on rather than the item.”
@modemlooper This would work nice for a tweeting a group though ( and adding “facebook Recommend” ) so that all the ‘feed things/social stuff pertaining to the group’ are in a similar place.

Im trying to get the tweet button to be between the rss feed class and the activity-filter-select div, as in the image ( using
add_action('bp_before_group_body', 'bp_tweet_button_activity_filter');) its inserting it above the subnav div, ( needs to be inside subnav.. ) but I can figure out how to get it between the two. Once I can position it correctly I’ll add the Facebook one too. Maybe can be a seperate, spin-off of your plug-in?Maybe if someone knows where to find the subnav ( for groups ) code I can have a look and get it sorted.
Edit: Iv’e created a topic not to hi-jack the thread: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/creating-extending/forum/topic/inside-group-subnav/
In reply to: image link in a plugin folder – dev question@r-a-y I’ve given it my all but no matter what I try I can’t get it to work for groups that don’t have the meta-data. Think I may have layed out “Get or return the card values” wrong. I know Im starting to irritate you abit with this one
though this is the last step in a working plug-in
Ive made it echo “one”, “two”.. for now so that you don’t have to have the images to work with it. Think you could take a look?
Here’s the plugin: http://pastebin.com/aFkPfJwW
Edit: Iv’e though of away around this for now, adding a nother function, function gcard_none() and just making it return “we are not associated with any image..” I would just have to make one of the fields compulsory
In reply to: BuddyPress Tweet Button pluginlooks nice, really nice. Any intrest in adding ‘facebook like’ one too?
Out of interest, do you have to tag a plug-in with ‘buddypress’ in order for the buddypress respiratory to pick it up?
In reply to: I need ideas for theme creation.Abit of topic but just some input.
One thing I find really useful in my current theme is indevidual sidebars for the different pages. Like sidebar-members and sidebar-members-single, on the members one you can display stuff about the entire network and when on members-single, you can display stuff related to the member, such as friend, points ( cubepoints ) and so on.
Ive done this with groups, blogs, members.. just about all my ‘sections’ have their own sidebar which shows related data.
One thing I hate though is when ppl go overboard with a themes options, trying to dig into messy code isn’t fun so I would say keep it simple and clean.
In reply to: Getting userid and display nameThere’s a plug-in that displays the user’d id for each member but in the back-end, under ‘users’. Maybe the code will be useful to you.. havn’t had a look.
In reply to: image link in a plugin folder – dev question@r-a-y miester last of the last thing

Im getting a error for groups that dont have the db field
Warning: in_array() expects parameter 2 to be array, string given in F:Programmesxampphtdocswordpresswp-contentpluginsbuddypress-group-credit-cardsbp-group-credit-cards.php on line 101Would saying ‘else return something’ be the right path, and what should I return to avoid the error?
Edit, thinking about it, how would I say if ‘gcard_group_card’ doesn’t exist, don’t return anuthing?
In reply to: image link in a plugin folder – dev questionEdit: Iv’e come right
using the last method ( thanks r-a-y for all your halp..again <img src="smileys/heart.gif" width="" height="" alt="<3" title=" )
@r-a-y Ive gotten the value’s to save an an array, example from my db: a:2:{i:0;s:3:”one”;i:1;s:3:”two”;}Now I take it I have to use steralize, while Im reading up on that.. have I used in_array correctly as Im finding info hard to come by?
$group_card = groups_get_groupmeta( $group->id, 'gcard_group_card' );
if (in_array($group_card == 'one')){
$group_card = gcard_one();
}
if (in_array($group_card == 'two')){
$group_card = gcard_two();
}
return apply_filters( 'gcard_get_group_card', $group_card );
}or should it look more like:
if(in_array("one",$group_card)){
echo gcard_one();
}
