Maybe a option would be to have optional “po templates” for groups with a phrase/sentence that might suit a type of site better than others? and then have the word “group” optional?

just thought of this as well, could it not call the word “group” from the slug, ( edit group slug plug-in comes in here ) and then change it according to each sentence, like capitalize the 1st letter and strip of “s” and so on. Would be alot of work but ye..

Here’s a good tut I always refer back to: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/setting_up_php.html

It says for dreamweaver, but just follow up till the end of the xampp/mampp installation.

Edit: here’s the one I was looking for soz: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/setting_up_php_03.html

@thelandman maybe build in something like this, https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/shockingly-big-ie6-warning/

I read about the plugin in one of my smashing mag books, somewhere.. But they really recommend it. It advises the user to try a different browser if they cant upgrade ie6 due to using windows 2000

There’s a plugin for this already, try searching the plugins next time.

If you edit bp-default, when you upgrade buddypress you will lose work done on bp-default.

Twenty ten is the wordpress default theme.

    try this out: http://pastebin.com/LLK9emtd
Save the code as gfield in your plugins folder and activate it. It adds a additional field to step1 of group creation

Change Trading hours to what ever you want

K got some1 else, anton, to confirm that it doesn’t work. would try play around with the changing the default pagination limit of 20 but that would be in the core I take it..

using po-edit makes it relatively easy and also the edit group slug plug-in. Also I think in most cases you would still have to change the wording ( “someone created the group soccer” to “someone created the sport soccer” would still need to be changed..) , having to use find and replace anyway.

Try editing in header.php in your theme. If you look at bp-default theme>header.php, on line 46+ you can see the menu tabs, just re-arrange them to suit your needs.

    Yes, it does work.
“but i must update BP manually” well there might be a problem where its timing out or something via automatic upgrade, thats why I said try uploading it manually..

Well is there anything that you need in there ( buddypress ), if not then just try deleting the buddypress folder, ( should be able to log into admin panel now? ), upload buddypress manually to wp-content>plugins and try activate it.

K been a while now and I still can’t come right. Tried using “This is the way you can add the various parameters directly” and “If you want to use multiple parameters it’s sometimes easier to use an array like this”.

Am I editing the right file? If I modify the groups loop; that should limit the pages of all groups right? Can some one give me an example of the modified groups loop limiting something so I can understand where I’m going wrong please.
