In reply to: Feature Request: Additional Profile Pages
This could be an approach: http://cleverness.org/2010/08/08/add-user-types-to-wordpress-and-buddypress/ (works with 3.1 multisite). It does not add pages but gives you the possibility to show profile-field-groups depending on the chosen user-role.
In reply to: lost tooltip on @user?The fact that I’m using a standard wp-theme (arras – adapted to work with bp together with template pack) made me realise, that I have the same problem. When the site’s loading I can see the “?” for a short time, then it disappears and doesn’t work.
In reply to: Remove wp-loginUse Branded Login from buddydev.com – it gives you the possibility to style your login and output it through a page.
In reply to: Buddypress adapted version of ARRAS, take a look!@gunju2221 Thank you for feedback. After I had started porting the theme to buddypress, I found a child theme based on arras in the arras forums – it’s called BrownBuddy and seems to be a little unfinished, but a good starting point, as there are many things you have to change and adapt. Read about it here http://www.arrastheme.com/forums/topic4211-buddypress-arras-theme-child-brownbuddy.html
In reply to: Is it possible to have two post forms in one page?Is this still working? What I’m trying to do is put the What’s-New-Form into my sidebar.
Thanks!
In reply to: Customize Buddypress Widget Theme Nav BarYou can do this by simple using this plugin: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/add-all-nav-links-to-bp-adminbar/
In reply to: Facebook-like photo/video/link posting pluginI would also suggest oEmbed (for buddypress), or maybe Buddypress Links, which offers similar possibilities.
In reply to: How to hide some profile fields from publicBP Profile Privacy only works for fields in the fieldgroup “Base” (ID 1). In which group did you place the birthday field?
In reply to: Music PluginFirst (and at the moment, the only one) for me is BP-Gallery (www.buddydev.com) – it’s a premium plugin with lots of possibilities and it’s worth the money you have to pay for.
Another opportunity will be (in march, the developers say) BP-Media (Bp-Album+), you can find it here: http://code.google.com/p/buddypress-media/
At the moment the stable version doesn’t support Audio, but you can play around with the nightly build.Greets!
@hnla: please, please, pretty, pretty!
In reply to: Assigning user roles to Members! Cant Find it 🙁Are you talking about groups in Buddypress? I can’t remember a bp-version where you were able to set user roles. Do you need a function to select different usertypes? If yes, there’s a solution – needs a few hacks in your template and also in buddypress core – but a needful tool.
Set up a wordpress-multisite installation, then hack the files. If you need help, just tell me.

In reply to: h-mag.comGenius!
In reply to: WP Smooth by Solostream – Is it compatible?Remove the notice: add “buddypress” to the templatetags in style.css of your theme.
In reply to: Buddypress on WP 3.0.1You need to change the permalink structure (something other than the default setting) in your wordpress-settings.
In reply to: Different profiles for different user types@localpaper and all the others: this is a working start (at the moment only working with multisites enabled):
http://cleverness.org/2010/08/08/add-user-types-to-wordpress-and-buddypress/Give it a try.
Ok, found this:

@Janismo: does this work?Any news on this? A big step forward, but as Janis said, we need a way to update profile-loop.php….
Thanks
In reply to: Profile typesDoes Janis’ solution work? In which place should I place this code?
Thanks@Paul Gibbs:
Thank you for that!
Me and my friends are running a joomla-driven community for bands and listeners. I’ve tried all leading os-cms (drupal’s still the only cms fullfilling all my wishes – but hard work to get along with). WP + Buddypress would be an alternative if there’s a way to allow certain members (depending on a select field or role) to make their own pages. Sounds like your plugin could bring me in the right direction. Small donation could be paid…
In reply to: Different profiles for different user types@Joss: any progress?
In reply to: Split members into admin defined caregories+2
In reply to: Multiple user typesNeed this functionality, too. Don’t know how to do this.
In reply to: Creating different profilesI need this function too. No ideas for months….
it works: if you just copy and pasted the line “define ( ‘BP_ROOT_BLOG’, 2 );” just take a look at the ‘ ‘, they need to be changed (cause if you type them in here, they will be changed – for this reason i can’t post it the right way here).
Understand?
