In reply to: flash slideshow
I don’t think you mean “flash slideshows”, what you’re really looking for is “jquery slideshows”. Just install a regular jquery WordPress plugin and activate it on your main website. Here’s one that I’ve used for a client’s site. I’ve disabled the links for the pictures, but you can set it to make each photo a link.
Hmm… we just upgraded to BP 1.2.4.1 from BP 1.2.3 and it’s fixed our time lag problem.
@hurd06, I would suggest doing a complete reinstall of the latest version of BP. Delete your current BP folder via FTP and then upload the latest version of BP (1.2.4.1) via FTP. Then let us know what happens.
In reply to: incorrect status time? sometime ago?I’ve noticed that on our site too. I thin it may just be the server running slowly during peek times. It generally sorts itself out after a few hours or so.
We have this same problem as well. Emails used to be 6 hours off until Day Light Savings time kicked in, now they’re all 5 hours off.
In reply to: SEO for BuddypressYou’ll want to post that in the plugin’s forum: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/seo-for-buddypress/forum/
In reply to: BuddyPress as a school networkActually, this site is a good example of what I’m looking for. Some of the plugin groups have forums and some do not.
Here’s a plugin without a forum: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/wibstats-statistics-for-wordpress-mu/
How would I disable forums for certain groups on a normal BP site? Basically I want forums for groups to be disabled by default, but then to be able to activate forums for groups on a case-by-case basis.
In reply to: How to manage users & their extended profiles?Here’s a good starting point: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-skeleton-component/
In reply to: Group DocusYou might try the BP Wiki plugin too: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-wiki/
In reply to: PLUGIN REQUEST: Forum AdsActually, I think there are some themes on on wpmu.org that do exactly what you’re asking for. You might check with them.
In reply to: Hiding BP widgetsHmm… have you tried asking them for support in their forums? All of their pay-for plugins should have full-fledged support.
In reply to: Why WordPress + BuddyPress is going to suck!Hit it the nail on the head about deterrent-knowledge. I mean, I’m not the greatest coder out there… but at least I know a little CSS and how to read through forum posts before I post. Google is man’s best friend.

I’m still not even sure how I did my first WPMU install. I think I must have tried 20 different combinations of factors before I got it running. Even then I didn’t have the presence of mind to write it down.

Hopefully @r-a-y is right, that it’ll shed more light to developers.
What file are you editing?
also try using
border-style:solid;
Ah, squares I see. Try
.page-numbers {
font-weight:bold;
font-size: 1.2 em;
border: 1px;
}In reply to: I have adapted BP-Real Names plugintry @r-a-y
Actually I like the numbers and arrow as they are. You should be able to make all of the visual changes you like by tweaking the CSS. I viewed the source and here are the classes.
page-numbers
page-numbers dots
page-numbers nextSo one example for your custom CSS could be
====================
====================
.page-numbers {
font-weight:bold;
font-size: 1.2 em;
}
In reply to: BuddyPress as a school networkI’ve got another question along the same lines for educational groups. Let’s say that we’ve got a bunch of groups on our site but we want to restrict creating forums for only certain groups.
E.g. I want the “Biology” group to have a group forum and to use the “Buddypress Wiki Compnent” plugin and “Group Documents” plugin. But I don’t want the “X-box Lovers from India” group to have these options.
How would I go about doing that?
In reply to: Bug on Buddypress.orgWell now they’re all showing the “Support: How-To and Troubleshooting (Support Group)” content. The WP-FB-AutoConnect plugin is the most recently updated plugin and it’s not experiencing this problem but the other 3 still are.
In reply to: Problem With Buddypress and Kodzilla ThemeI don’t see what the problem is. If you’re talking about the Query slider then I would post a couple more blog posts with pictures. It looks like the theme needs at least 3 blog posts with images for the image-slider to work correctly.
In reply to: BuddyPress plugin says inactive but works. Normal?Buddypress is supposed to be activated sitewide, so click “Activate BuddyPress Site Wide”
In reply to: Activity Stream – “XYZ User has a new avatar”Does anyone else think this is worthy submitting to trac as a new feature for BP 1.3? (but probably not for 1.2.4)
I mean, FB thinks changing avatars is a big enough deal to include it on all of their user’s walls and I’m sure other BP communities would love this as well.
Ok, try this: http://snipt.org/Nkoo
No, no. The forum stripped out my code even thought I was using <code></code>
I’m trying to find a site that lets me drop in code samples so I can give you the link.
I dug around the default theme of BP and found this in header.php
