In reply to: How to limit activity items for per page? This is something that has been bothering me… Why does this:

Cause the drop down search filters not to work? Is it wrong? That is insane!!! Is your footer only showing for certain user roles? Maybe it’s a cache clearing issue? I really have no clue on this… It will be interesting to see what the answer to this mystery is…
In reply to: Is anyone using Cloudflare?I need to get back into this, but I’ve completely disabled Cloudflare for the time being. I was hiving issues with people that had previously joined groups being asked to join again… This may have been something else causing a problem as I also use w3Total Cache and the two could have been conflicting… I just have not had the time to sort this out yet and I needed to bring back stability.
Yes, I was using the plugin….
Wondering if pre-fork vs. worker would have a bearing on this… I’m currently Apache pre-fork…
In reply to: Help Me Delete Stuck Notification…Ok… so @brajesh was able to point be in the right direction on this…
The problem is that I was looking for a user ID of the person that sent the request that was trying to join the group… what I needed to do was SEARCH for my User ID in the wp-bp-notification table… this had the user’s id making the request listed as an ITEM not a userID (as the user ID was mine)…. once I deleted that it went away…
FYI: You can find User IDs in the tables themselves or you can use a plugin called REVEAL ID to find IDs in the WordPress back end…

In reply to: Help Me Delete Stuck Notification…Hello all any help with this please?
In reply to: Is anyone using Cloudflare?Greg…. looks like some of users are reporting some cache issues…. That is groups that they’ve joined that they have to “rejoin”, but not really… I had this set to aggressive cache, I’m changing it to basic and see if that is an issue still…. There is no way to turn off caching completely with cloudflare….. more later…
In reply to: Is anyone using Cloudflare? One of my sites is continually attacked by a wayward bot from china… If this could stop that… that would be amazing… the bot is called sogue…
In reply to: Is anyone using Cloudflare?I’m trying this now… cloudflare… I’ll let you know what it what… do you also use the wordpress cloudflare plugin with buddypress?
In reply to: WP-minify and new version of BuddypressI don’t have access to @apeatling directly… can one of you ask/e-mail? @djpaul @johnjamesjacoby
Caching avatars would be a HUGE improvement for us…
Thanks.
In reply to: Possible security hole [Solved]check to see if you have any other “admins” in your users… maybe you have an admin account that has been hacked and they are being generated from the inside?

Polite bump…
In reply to: How to I delete Groups started by spammers?Greg,
You have to do this front-end…. go to the group.. choose the admin link –> then delete group… There are some plugins for the back-end management of groups too…

Just re-looking at this thread 5 months later… Having the ability to cache avatars would be a huge load savings for all of us using CDNs… Any more progress or thoughts on this?
Ha! Ok, found the problem with this… it’s BuddyStream… I’ve informed Peter of the issue and hopefully there will be a fix for it in the next week or so…
Yes, I am having this problem too… it is driving me crazy today.
Wonder if it’s a plugin? I haven’t checked yet…
In reply to: Any successful Buddypress site?We are very successful and only 6 months in evolution at 1,200 members with a 70% active participant number (at least once every 2 weeks). The site is specifically for Music Education. You can check it out at musicpln[dot]org You’ll have to sign up to see it though (free sign-up).
Regards.
In reply to: RSS FEED, list external contentI was not a fan of that plugin in it’s current state… it’s formatting does not look good when dumped to the activity stream — it needs to be updated. There also wasn’t enough control for me… It would be nice to limit the amount of imports it pulls per feed and set pull times, without having to edit the code. I just didn’t have the time to mess with it. I am sure; however, that many people are using it. It would be nice to see the development on it continued and it continued to be refined… I may revisit it…
In reply to: RSS FEED, list external contentHey @bowromir -wow, I missed this somehow… Great plugin as well!!! … I think roman means can we (in a future update) choose a group for the stream to import into rather/AND/OR than the main activity stream. I could see that as being extremely useful as well. Again, nice job. You should submit this to the repository …. or if it is –> I was not able to find it as I just searched for a similar plugin about a week ago.
In reply to: How to block ip when visiting /register ? [SPAM]@modemlooper great idea… I look forward to seeing what the think tank here comes up with.
In reply to: Single SignOn MediaWiki – User CapitalizationHave you seen this?

I’m looking at integrating a mediawiki using the WP credentials as users… Is that what you are trying to accomplish?
Monday morning polite bump.
I’m not using the close function, but the x does close for me… maybe a plugin conflict?
