I see. I was just about to add that the previous registrant’s name is only used if I register again using the same browser; when I register in another browser (without the associated cookies) I simply get an empty field.

Is there any ETA on 1.0.2, then?

Yes. Try that. Or, you could try installing directly to intw.org – I see no reason why not.

You are confusing buddypress, which uses /blog/ to refer to the blog page. install it elsewhere, say “wpmu”, and try again

Both versions can be found at the codex page linked above, also here: https://codex.buddypress.org/translations/swedish-svenska-sv_se/

Not really dangerous, just that I’d have to edit it again afterwards…

The inner workings of the e-mail spam detectors are strange and mysterious. You are probably right in that having your mail sent by a server on a domain hostname different than the domain specified in the “from” field in the mail (your domain) counts against them. I’d set up a big “check your junk mail” blurb as suggested above, and recommend your members to mark all BuddyPress e-mails as “not spam”.

I want my users to be able to create blogs att signup, but I want “Just a username, please” to be checked by default rather than “Gimme a blog!”. Unfortunately, I have no found any filter for this. Any ideas other than a minor edit to the relevant core file?

I solved this by creating a bbPress theme that simply made everything invisible (css “display: none;” on everything) and redirected the users to the start page of my community by means of a meta refresh redirect.

Since I am so extremely witty, I called it “Kakumei None”. You can download it here: http://dropbox.jobjorn.se/kakumei-none.zip

I can’t get this to work at all. They’re supposed to be installed in /bb-templates/, right?

    I get errors like:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function bp_page_title() in /example.org/forum/bb-templates/kakumei/header.php on line 4

I’m just finishing a translation based on BP 1.0, coming up soon.

I too am in favor of the “another blog on this site” option.

If you use cPanel, you should add a subdomain called “*” to your add-on domain and point it to the same folder as the add-on domain.

Free licensing is kind of crucial I’d say. Why not use GPL, like BuddyPress does?

I have no idea what the problem is really, but you should be using subdomains for your wpmu blogs if running WordPress MU, afaik. Otherwise you are bound to get in trouble.

You mean you want them to be able to post blog posts without having a blog?

The “BuddyBar” is by default not shown to visitors that are not logged in. You can change this in the BuddyPress settings, at http://example.org/wp-admin/wpmu-admin.php?page=bp_core_admin_settings

Can you give us more details about your install? What version did you install, what version of WPMU are you using, are you using subdomains (http://blog.example.org/) for blogs or not (http://example.org/blog/)?

egerrits: you should make integration with other services (twitter/facebook/google calendar/etc) optional, or possible even in a separate plugin (a plugin-plugin ;)). While those things are nifty, they are just bloat if you don’t want them.

I’d give priority to groups integration, and even higher priority to .ics calendar feeds!

Can I help in any way btw?

They will be developed, but other things have a higher priority at the moment.

Indeed, you should be reporting it to the plugin author.

Since some time, there as been a change in the structure of $bp: see this topic.

You should edit that line to instead read:

    $profile_link = $bp->loggedin_user->domain . $bp->profile->slug . '/';

The bad things about search&replace, huh? Throughout my plugin, there are comments like “In this mypluginname, we will…”

I believe Nicola is using gravatars for both his buddypress and his bbpress installations.

MartinNr5: need help with the Swedish translation? I was about to start doing that next week, but I see no need to re-do finished work.
