I’m getting the ol’ duplicate activity stream items bug when you hit on the “Load More” button in the activity stream.
It’s something to do with cookies. If I clear them, the problem resolves itself.
I would maybe prefer disabling (or hiding) the activity stream tab in plugin groups and only having a forum.
I don’t want to see two modes of interactivity in the plugin group… just makes things a little harder to manage.The problem with this idea is the plugin author would need to manually go in and enable the discussion forum.
Not much work, but just thinking aloud!In reply to: Admin bar CSS@absticles – If you’re using a child theme, to override the CSS, either create a file called /_inc/css/adminbar.css in your child theme, or just override CSS rules with the !important rule in your style.css.
In reply to: BuddyPress Bar on external pagesIf you’re using subdomains for your external apps, Boone’s write-up will probably not work due to javascript cross-domain security issues.
In reply to: how to – inbox and stats widgets?@el_terko – you’re right. The new inbox widget is simply a message loop:

https://buddypress.org/community/groups/oembed-for-buddypressIt’s better to make your changes in a child theme. This way your changes will not be overwritten when you have to upgrade BP.
Try using the post snippet I posted above.
function my_redirect_activation_email()
{
return get_site_option( "admin_email" );
}
add_filter('bp_core_activation_signup_user_notification_to', 'my_redirect_activation_email');
Add this to wp-content/plugins/bp-custom.php or your theme’s functions.php file.
#buddypress-dev on freenode.
Or use this java applet:
http://java.freenode.net/?channel=buddypress-devYeah, I think the forums need a little tweaking…
I think a paginated forum discussion loop with only the “legacy” groups – Creating & Extending, Installing BP, Gallery, etc. (or maybe all of them?) – at the top of the support forums page would be nice.
Then there could be just links to these group forums in list format below.
Or this list could also be put in the sidebar (similar to the Vanilla forums – http://vanillaforums.org/discussions ).Check out how to customize labels with a language file:
https://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/customizing-labels-messages-and-urls/@mercime – that hack you linked to is totally unnecessary! It is possible to use filters to achieve the same result. The same method was brought up in the IRC room a few days ago. It is actually quite a nice way around the problem

@DJPaul – editing my own posts work now, it wasn’t working about an hour ago. Andy’s been busy!

Other issues:
– Hyperlinks in the “About Me” profile description need to be nofollow’d to prevent SEO spam.
– Group avatars do not work@mercime – Works when you change the dropdown filter a few times.
Just discovered a usability issue on the sitewide activity stream. See my screenshot below:
http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/8599/usabilitybporg.jpgMy suggestion would be to switch the dropdown menu to the right and move the “Activity Filter” to where the dropdown menu currently is.
Need to minimize secondary activity items like joining groups from the sitewide activity stream.
Can’t edit forum posts / threads. Edit screen appears to be missing the form.
Also for the support forum directory, need to link to the last posted item. Maybe the timestamp can be linked?
For the forum directory… it might be better to use a site-wide latest discussion loop instead of separating forum posts by group.

You have to do this first before you can enable user blogs.

Maybe try CubePoints:

It’s a manual process right now though and will take some time to configure properly.

It’s always good to organize items in your theme’s functions.php.
Marked as resolved.
If there are any other issues, @hotforwords, change the topic back to “not resolved”.
In reply to: user created eccommerce storesWithin their own profiles? Not that I know of.
However, if you use WPMU, your user blogs could use some WPMU-compatible e-commerce plugins such as eShop or Quick Shop.
eShop – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/eshop/
Quick Shop – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/quick-shop/
Hope that helps!
