You didn’t follow the instructions:
Can be changed via language file:
https://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/customizing-labels-messages-and-urls/
Or via core file, but I’m not going to tell you how!
Okay fine, here it is – /bp-core/bp-core-widgets.php
In reply to: bad avatar urls in new instalSomething to do with owner permissions.
Do a search on google for “wordpress upload owner permissions”.
In reply to: Register.php broken; users can’t registerYour problem isn’t related to Jill’s.
Are you using BlueHost as your web hosting provider? If so, read this FAQ:

In reply to: bad avatar urls in new instalHope you didn’t copy and paste the characters as-is because the characters aren’t correct.
Try this instead:
if ( !$path = get_option( 'upload_path' ) )
$path = WP_CONTENT_DIR . '/uploads';
else
$path = ABSPATH . $path;In reply to: Activity SearchPlease do a search before posting a new topic:

In reply to: Firefox Browser Issues (Urgent)Could be a cached stylesheet in Firefox (it happens!).
Either refresh, or delete your cache and check the page again.
But like Xevo said very hard to tell from that screenshot.

In reply to: bad avatar urls in new instalIn reply to: Adminbar in the footer.Create a child theme (instruction link is above), then paste that CSS snippet in your child theme’s stylesheet.
Avatar path is not stored in the database.
Did you set a custom avatar path?
Because mysite.com/avatars is not the default avatar path.

Login with the same login info you use here on bp.org.
Do you need user blogs?
If not, disable the blog tracking component.
Login to the WP backend, navigate to “BuddyPress > Component setup”. Disable blog tracking.
All logical complaints!
That’s it! I quit!
Btw, happy April Fools day yourself!

In reply to: [Resolved] CubePoints and BuddyPress Intregration?Assuming that the BP-Likes plugin has hooks… then yes, otherwise no.
In reply to: Centering Admin Bar (fixed width)Add this to child theme’s stylesheet:
#wp-admin-bar .padder {width:1097px !important;}Btw 1097px is a little wide…
In reply to: Ignore and Report function in the activity stream.In reply to: Adminbar in the footer.Requires some CSS knowledge.
You can probably override this setting in your child theme’s stylesheet (I’m assuming you already use a child theme!).
Don’t know what a child theme is?
https://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/building-a-buddypress-child-theme/
When you’ve created a child theme, add this to your child theme’s stylesheet:
#wp-admin-bar {bottom:0 !important;}
#wp-admin-bar ul li ul {bottom:23px !important;}In reply to: Create a Site ForumI think if the forums component is disabled or if you set the BP_FORUMS_SLUG to something other than “forums”, you should be able to access the /forums/ directory.
I’ve successfully installed bbPress at /forums/ when I set the BP_FORUMS_SLUG to something else and external bbPress is also deep integrated.
Also, I don’t think Craig is at the point where he can try a deep integrated bbPress install as he can’t even access the /forums/ directory yet
Did you upgrade incrementally from BP 1.0.3 to BP 1.1.3, and then from BP 1.1.3 to BP 1.2.3?
BP avatars since v1.1 use the suffix “-bpfull.jpg” or “-bpthumb.jpg”.
Try renaming the end of your avatars so it matches like this.

In reply to: Achievements or other reward system?There’s also CubePoints, it’s a WP plugin that gives users points based on certain actions.
If you know a little code, you can easily extend the plugin to offer user points for BP. You can potentially do some neat things with the logged-in user and some CubePoints conditionals in the BP theme.
Here’s a starter thread:

In reply to: bp-blog theme as defaultHere are the steps to create a user blog theme off of the BP default theme:
1) Create a new child theme.
https://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/building-a-buddypress-child-theme/
2) Copy over /plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/header.php to your child theme’s directory.
3) In your child theme’s header.php, strip out all the [li] items in the [ul id=”nav”] block as well as the do_action line. Leave the wp_list_pages() line intact.
4) That’s it! Your new theme is ready to be used on user blogs
