In reply to: Activity embeds in activity stream
@binary10 – Hmm, not sure what the problem is.
Are you using the latest version of WordPress?
In reply to: Activity embeds in activity stream@binary10 – Are you using some custom code to restrict access to your BuddyPress site or certain parts of your site like member profiles?
If you are, then it isn’t possible for the oEmbed code to return properly.
In reply to: Fatal error after update@oddreal – Without having access to the theme, it’s hard to tell what the problem is, but I’m guessing it’s a problem with not checking if the Groups component is active.
Tell the theme author to use
bp_is_active( 'groups' )to check if the Groups component is active before doing whatever group check is applicable in the widget code.In reply to: bp_activity_filter_kses functionDo not remove the
bp_activity_filter_kses()function.Hook into the
'bp_activity_allowed_tags'filter and do your checks there.In reply to: Fatal error on a BuddyPress 2.6.0 upgrade@seventhqueen – Thanks for updating your plugin!
In reply to: Fatal error after update@oddreal – Is this theme freely available on wordpress.org or Github so we can take a look? Or is this a premium theme?
In reply to: Post Update: Unable to See the buddypress Activity@tse11 – I am unable to replicate the issue at the moment. Can you list steps to duplicate the issue? Pretend I don’t know what you are referring to.
Is this only to your own activity items or someone else’s? Is this issue only relevant to specific activity items (activity updates, group activity items) or all types of activity items? Are you logged in as a regular member or an administrator?
Update – If you are using an object cache plugin, try clearing the object cache.
In reply to: Activity embeds in activity streamIn reply to: Post Update: Unable to See the buddypress Activity@valarmurugan @tse11 – What is the issue exactly?
Can someone list the steps necessary to duplicate the problem?
In reply to: Fatal error after updateCan you list the BuddyPress plugins you are using, @tintveld? Any specific steps that is triggering this? Is the error on all pages?
Can you try this fix and see if it resolves your problems?
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/attachment/ticket/7140/7140.01.patchIf you’re using BP Group Hierarchy, you need to apply this patch:
https://github.com/ddean4040/BP-Group-Hierarchy/pull/21/filesIn reply to: Individual Groups Link Leads To 404I just tested an nginx install and BuddyPress works for me.
I would say check your nginx conf file:
https://codex.wordpress.org/NginxBut if you say this problem only occurred when you upgraded BuddyPress, then it could be a plugin issue.
What plugins are you using?
In reply to: BuddyPress 2.6.0 “Espejo” is now available@m1000 – Nice catch!
We’ll address this for v2.6.1. In the meantime, here’s the fix:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/attachment/ticket/7141/7141.01.patchIn reply to: issue with sixteen mobile menu and buddypressCan’t duplicate this on Chrome or Firefox. Does this only happen when you are logged in?
Check your browser’s developer tools to inspect what is causing the hanging.
In reply to: Links in Posts not responsive in iPhone mobile view.I don’t think this is related to BuddyPress, but rather your WordPress theme.
Your homepage is rendered by WordPress and not BuddyPress.
In reply to: Installed. Now, what?Login to the WP admin dashboard and go to “Plugins”.
Deactivate the plugin in question. Then, you can delete it as well.
In reply to: Installed. Now, what?If you want to use forums, you should use bbPress instead.
bbPress = forums plugin
BuddyPress = community plugin (member profiles, user groups, private messaging, notifications)You can use both, but if a forum is all you need, then use bbPress.
I personally am not sure why you would move from phpBB. Installing WordPress just to use a WordPress forum plugin is not the best way to go about things unless you need to blog and use specific WordPress functionality on your site.
In reply to: Fatal error on a BuddyPress 2.6.0 upgradeI’ve duplicated the issue for plugins using code like this:
add_action( 'bp_include', function() { if ( class_exists( 'BP_Group_Extension' ) ) { class My_Group_Extension extends BP_Group_Extension { } bp_register_group_extension( 'My_Group_Extension' ); } }, 99 );The BuddyPress Cover Photo plugin uses something similar to the above.
I’ve opened a ticket with a fix to this specific problem:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/7140In reply to: Fatal error on a BuddyPress 2.6.0 upgrade@anth0ny167 or anyone else experiencing this problem, I’m convinced this is a problem with class autoloading that we introduced in BuddyPress 2.6.
Although it helps, you shouldn’t need to add
bp_is_active()checks that kaab321 recommended, the fact that you do means that it is a bug with BuddyPress.If you can duplicate your issue after using my proposed fix:
https://gist.github.com/r-a-y/f54e7a07b71af1c7bfab6e06433da3d6Then, please let me know the steps on how I could replicate this on a fresh install if possible.
@syborg has verified that this works.
Also, the BP Group Hierarchy issue is not related to this one.
In reply to: Fatal error on a BuddyPress 2.6.0 upgradeCan somebody try this patch in
bp-loader.php?https://gist.github.com/r-a-y/f54e7a07b71af1c7bfab6e06433da3d6
In reply to: Fatal error on a BuddyPress 2.6.0 upgradeHmm, it looks like class autoloading is causing this trouble.
I’ll try to duplicate this locally.
In reply to: Fatal Error Crash – Website stopped workingWhat plugins do you have installed?
Are you using multisite?
Do you only have BuddyPress activated on the root site? If so, you should network-deactivate any BuddyPress plugins and only activate BuddyPress plugins on the main root site.
Update – Can you try this fix?
In reply to: bp_groups_get_group_types return empty arrayLooks like the code example doesn’t work in your theme’s
functions.phpunless you change the hook from'bp_groups_register_group_types'to'bp_init'.However, the code example from the codex works as-is if used in
wp-content/plugins/bp-custom.php.Going to file a bug report. Thanks for testing, @d8vjork!
Update: Here’s the ticket – https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/7138
