In reply to: Updating issue
You didn’t mention how you are adding your CSS.
What code are you using to enqueue your CSS?
In reply to: bbPress Error after updating BuddyPressI would also recommend turning debug messages off in a production environment.
Set
WP_DEBUGto false inwp-config.php:
https://codex.wordpress.org/WP_DEBUGDebug notices should only be turned on in a dev environment.
In reply to: version 2.2.0 and is_page() [Resolved]In BuddyPress 2.2.0, we set all BP pages to page ID of zero.
This showcases the “
is_page( 'ANYSLUG' )returning true” bug in WordPress when the page ID is zero:
https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/24674I would recommend applying this simple one-word patch to WP core temporarily:
https://core.trac.wordpress.org/attachment/ticket/24674/24674.2.diffOr you can use
is_buddypress()to test if you’re on a BP page as well.In reply to: Register and Activate Association ProblemHi,
Did you turn on registration?
Login to the WP admin dashboard and navigate to “Settings > Reading”. Click on the “Anyone can register” checkbox. If you’re on multisite, you can turn on registration by going to “Network Admin > Settings > Network Settings”.
In reply to: Pagination on Members broken after updateThis should be fixed in 2.2. What version of BuddyPress are you all using?
Apologies for the widget styling.
You can apply the following patch for a temporary fix until we issue 2.2.1:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/attachment/ticket/5817/5817.clear.patch@slothlovechunk – Thanks for your in-depth debugging.
This does seem like a bug. Can you create a new ticket with exactly what you wrote here:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/newticket (use the same credentials as you use here on buddypress.org)And reference this ticket where the meta SQL changes were made:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/5919Thanks so much!
In reply to: Buddypress 2.2.0-bp-languages doesn’t workYou have to merge your .pot file with the latest one located in
/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/buddypress.pot.Read the “Updating your custom language file” section of this codex article:
—
For other plugins, placing your custom translations in
/wp-content/pluginsor/wp-content/languages/plugins/should work.In reply to: Buddypress 2.2.0-bp-languages doesn’t workPut your language file here:
/wp-content/languages/buddypress/And you will not have to worry about upgrades removing your language file.
In reply to: BuddyPress doesn’t save Search page choiceSearch is not a default BuddyPress page.
You are probably using a plugin for this. Can you list which plugin you are using?
In reply to: BuddyPress 2.2.0 Breaks Featured PostsDidn’t know “Featured Posts” was a Twenty Fourteen thing. Oops! 🙂
For anyone else reading, some more info on the “Featured Content” option in Twenty Fourteen can be found here:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Twenty_FourteenWill try to look this when I have some more time.
About the member widget avatar CSS, looks like Twenty Fourteen showcases a bug 🙁
Try this patch to fix the staggering issue:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/attachment/ticket/5817/5817.clear.patchIn reply to: Fatal error 113@onesmart – After looking into this some more, I would say this is a bug with the WP-reCAPTCHA plugin.
They are incorrectly using the
'wpmu_validate_user_signup'filter. You should use another reCAPTCHA plugin:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=recaptchaI should have noted that Akismet is indeed working with the BP activity component on my end when posting in the activity stream using BP v2.2. No errors or infinite spinners.
Sorry for the vague comment.
In reply to: Fatal error 113@onesmart –
Can you list exactly which plugins you are using with links to the repo? There are numerous reCAPTCHA plugins. I tried WP-reCAPTCHA by itself, but that doesn’t include any BuddyPress integration
and doesn’t create the error?.Update – Error duplicated (needed to submit the form!). Doing some more research. More to come.
In reply to: BuddyPress 2.2.0 Breaks Featured PostsDoes the Featured Posts plugin offer an option to put posts directly under the header? Or is it a code snippet that you added to the header?
If it’s the latter option, can you post your snippet? You might need to adjust the Featured Posts loop parameters.
Hmm, well there goes my theory 🙂
We do have one report that Akismet is working on BP 2.2. We’ll try to look into this and whether we can pass on some additional debugging info to you.
Update – I can also verify that Akismet is working on my local test environment.
In reply to: Make wp Admin bar visibleWhat modemlooper meant to say was, try adding a custom menu under “Appearance > Menus” in the WP admin dashboard.
Follow the steps in step 2 of this codex article:
https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/how-to-set-up-your-main-site-navigation-using-the-built-in-wordpress-menus/#step-2-create-your-main-navigation-menuIn reply to: BP 2.2 Broke Chat and MessengerI’ve approved the post that was previously marked as spam so it should be visible now:
https://buddypress.org/support/topic/bp-2-2-broke-chat-and-messenger/?view=all#post-233839In reply to: Fatal error 113It might have to be the other way around. WP-reCAPTCHA might have to make some adjustments, but now that we know what the cause is, we can take a look at the problem in-depth.
Thanks for the report.
In reply to: BuddyPress 2.2.0 Breaks Featured PostsThe Members widget has members staggered rather than in a straight flush left list.
In v2.2, member avatars in widgets have been enlarged from 40px to 60px, which might have caused the staggering issue that you are experiencing. You might have to adjust your theme’s CSS to fix this.
In reply to: Fatal error 113Are you using any plugins that might interfere with the registration process? If so, disable them.
Sounds like an issue with your environment when pinging an external site.
Try pinging any site with
wp_remote_post( 'URL_HERE' );and see if you get similar results. Or, see if you can view the RSS feed items that usually show up in the admin dashboard. Do they show up?In reply to: Fatal error 113Thanks for the report.
Since this bug was happening on v2.1.1, we need some more details to duplicate the problem.
Are you using any registration plugins? If so, disable them and see if you get the same problem.
If not, can you let us know exactly what you are doing on the registration form?
For example:
* First, I go to example.com/register
* Next, I type in “newuser” under the “Username” field.
* …Thanks!
BuddyPress 2.2 should fix this problem.
Release is imminent so stay tuned!
In reply to: BuddyPress 2.1.1 is not working with WP 4.1The “Create a Group” link is available in the WP Admin Bar — “WP Admin Bar > Groups > Create A Group” — or on the Groups Directory page (example.com/groups/ usually).
The “Create New Topic” button is only available on a group’s “Forum” page if you installed the bbPress forum plugin and when you have connected a group with a forum.
