It might be a cookie problem. Make sure your browsers accept cookies.
In reply to: must refresh the page after loginI don’t experience the same problem that your video is showing.
Using Firefox 35 here.

Right, but like you said, if the plugin is only overriding the From name at run-time and if the plugin option says to explicitly override the From name, then the check is redundant.
In reply to: must refresh the page after loginTry using a WP default theme besides BuddyBoss and see if you still experience the same problem.
If there is still an issue, it might be a plugin conflict.
I’ve closed 6160 in favor of 4689.
In the meantime, the issue I see with “Contact Form Clean and Simple” plugin is this check in
cscf_Filters::wp_mail_from():// If the from email is not the default, return it unchanged if ( $orig != $default_from ) { return $orig; }If you remove that block and bump the priority in
cscf_Filters::add()andcscf_Filters::remove()from 10 to something higher as shanebp suggested above, that plugin should work.I’ve taken a look at the ticket and have proposed a fix that may not make it to BuddyPress 2.2, but you can patch temporarily:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/attachment/ticket/6153/6153.01.patchThank the Atahualpa dev for posting a detailed bug report!
In reply to: Pagination no-ajax bugThis should be fixed when BuddyPress 2.2 is out:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/5967If you have a testing environment, you can test out 2.2-beta 2:
In reply to: Pagination in ActivityThe following codex page provides an example of how to change the activity pagination to a custom number:
Can you confirm what happens when you switch your theme to twentytwelve or another theme other than what you are currently using? Also disable any unrelated plugins you may be using.
For the actual overriding of the page title and meta tags, you’ll need, hook into
'wp_head'action and write your tags for meta. For page title, you’ll need to override the'wp_title'or'wp_title_parts'filter.If you need frontend management, I would probably write the SEO data into the groupmeta DB table. Write a group extension plugin so a group admin can input the title and meta description.
Group extension codex article is here:
Tie the two together and you should be able to accomplish what you want.
Does the registration page work when you switched your theme? (I’m not concerned about menus as that is independent from this issue.)
Do you have registration enabled?
In reply to: How To bp_set_member_type?Roles are independent from BP member types.
As per the codex article, adding a ‘role’ parameter to your
bp_register_member_type()call will not do anything:If you have concerns about this, I would suggest you raise a ticket if you want to tie roles to member types:
https://trac.buddypress.org/newticketUse the same credentials you use here on buddypress.org.
Make sure you have associated the proper page. Also switch your theme to something else (preferably a default WP theme) to confirm that it isn’t an issue with your theme.
In reply to: BP 2.2 beta 2 member-type selectable by memberBP 2.2 is introducing a barebones API for member types mostly for developers to get their hands on it. We haven’t done any deep UI integration into the registration or edit profile pages, but 2.3 will make further inroads into this.
In reply to: user registration: generate random passwordJust an idea, but you could probably create a plugin to inject some javascript and add a button called “Generate Password” on the registration page. When clicked, the JS will generate a password and populate the BuddyPress password fields.
For the JS, you could use something like Chance.js.
In reply to: BP 2.2 beta 2 member-type selectable by memberBill, there has been some replies to your ticket.
You’ll probably be interested in this code snippet for now:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/6145#comment:4BuddyPress does not come bundled with album support. Sounds like you are using a plugin.
Try to duplicate this on a clean install with only BuddyPress. If the notice doesn’t show up any more, it’s an issue with the album plugin.
We’re looking to improve the invite process for BuddyPress 2.3.
I’m going to ping @dcavins, as he will be implementing the invite improvements, so he’s aware of this.
Just to answer your questions:
Notification in the profile window’s (there are 3 notifications: message (1) – friends (1) – but in GROUPS there is no notification).
The “Groups > No Pending Invites” nav item is for invites you have requested. Not invites that are pending for the entire group.
The user (A) has posted in a group wall’s and the user (B) has done a comment.
The user (A) hasn’t received notification neither admin toolbar or administration profile windows.Currently, notifications do not occur for activity comments. We’ll likely add this enhancement into core eventually, but for now, you’ll have to use a plugin for this:
The user (A) has opened a forum in a grup. The user (B) has done a comment.
The user (A) has received notification in the administratio toolbar. But when the user (A) has done a comment the user (B) don’t has received the notification.How did user A reply to user B? On the group activity homepage or on the actual group forum topic? If user A replied on the group forum topic, then this sounds like an issue with bbPress, not BuddyPress.
The problem is Atahualpa adds comments to any WP page with
bfa_get_comments()and BuddyPress designates its pages as a WP page.Follow youmin’s idea. Copy index.php and rename it to
buddypress.phpand remove thebfa_get_comments()call. This will make sure that comments are not shown on BuddyPress pages.Data is stored in the
wp_signupstable under themetacolumn. Data is serialized, so you’ll need to unserialize the data.Use the this class method –
BP_Signup::get():
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/2.1.1/src/bp-members/bp-members-classes.php#L108Use it like this:
$signup = BP_Signup::get( array( 'user_login' => USERNAME_YOU_WANT_TO_CHECK ) ) );Then do a
var_dump()of$signupand you should get all the data you need for the user.Can you test another theme? Preferably one of the WordPress default themes?
Does the open comments issue occur on another theme or just Atahualpa?
In reply to: BP 2.2 beta 2 member-type selectable by memberSounds like a bug.
Can you post a ticket here?
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/newticketUse the same credentials you use here on buddypress.org.
The problem is you are attempting to use BuddyPress functions when they do not exist during activation / reactivation in your theme’s functions.php or templates.
When specifically relying on plugin functions, wrap those function calls with:
if ( function_exists( 'THE_FUNCTION_YOU'RE_USING' ) ) { // YOUR CODE HERE }In reply to: xProfile Required Fields BugOf course! 🙂
In reply to: bp_members() loop is only pulling one member.In order for members to show up in the member loop, they must have logged in at least once.
Can you verify that the user has logged in? If so, does that user show up in the loop?
