In reply to: Can’t add users to Groups in back-end
Works for me.
It might be failing because you have
WP_DEBUGset to true in wp-config.php. If that is the case, setWP_DEBUGto false.@pro120 – This should be partially addressed in BuddyPress 2.0 as we’ve moved the last activity entries directly into the activity component to speed up queries.
If you haven’t upgraded yet, please backup your database before upgrading then give it a shot.
In reply to: Links on BP homepage make no senseThanks for noticing, stripedsquirrel. All of the pages should work now.
The plugin repository on buddypress.org needs some love that hopefully can be tackled in the future. For now, it is what it is.
In reply to: BP 2.0 | Fatal Error, Profile UpdatesThanks for the report, @rewindcaz.
A ticket was created and addressed here:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/5571This will be added for v2.0.1 in the upcoming days.
I just tried mentioning 11 users on P2 and couldn’t duplicate your issue.
It appears this issue only occurs when you view the post on the frontend since you state that the correct content shows up when you edit the post.
Try the recommendation I listed in the ticket you opened:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/5565#comment:1If that doesn’t work, what other plugins are you using?
In reply to: new members widget show: No one has signed up yet!Try the following:
* Login to the WP admin dashboard
* Navigate to “Tools > BuddyPress”
* Check Repair user “last activity” data
* Click on the “Repair Items” buttonLet the task run. After it’s done, then, check to see if that fixes things with the members widget.
In reply to: Show Activity Comments To EverybodyHi Djsix,
The problem occurs because a check is added to see if a user is logged in before the activity comments block is displayed.
I’ve created a new ticket about this here:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/5567In the meantime, you can override the specific template by copying
wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/activity/entry.phpto your theme. The file should reside here –
wp-content/themes/YOUR-THEME/buddypress/activity/entry.php. Then, make the file change listed in the patch linked in the ticket above. In reply to: Display Member Directorycarlsandburg – Create a WordPress menu:
https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/guides/how-to-set-up-your-main-site-navigation-using-the-built-in-wordpress-menus/In reply to: Inconsistency in Member Count DisplayThe “All Members” count takes into consideration if the users are active on the site.
When you use the alphabetical dropdown filter, this shows all members on the site even if some members have never logged into the site yet.
1. This is not a bug. We have never supported screen notifications for activity comments in core. There is already a ticket for this – https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/5395.
2. The main activity directory doesn’t show activity comments as separate entries by default because it will clutter up the stream. This is intentional, but since people will be using activity comments more, this might be a good time to revisit this.
Here’s a quick plugin to force the activity stream to always show activity comments as separate entries:
https://gist.github.com/r-a-y/109375093. Good idea. Will add an enhancement ticket for this for v2.1.
In reply to: BuddyPress 2.0 RC1 FeedbackI usually test on the Twenty Twelve theme as it’s nice and clean. You can basically use any decent WordPress theme for the most part.
If BuddyPress doesn’t work with a certain theme, let us know.
In reply to: BuddyPress 2.0 RC1 FeedbackYou left out that you were using the bp-default theme 😉
I’ll post a ticket about this, but I don’t believe we are adding new features to the bp-default theme as we are phasing out support for it. The “Settings > Profile” tab would constitute as a new feature.
You are advised to use any other theme.
Regarding the “Delete Account” link in the WP Adminbar, it shows up if you are not an administrator.
In reply to: BuddyPress 2.0 RC1 FeedbackThanks for testing, sharmavishal.
I’ve created a ticket here with a potential fix for the first two things:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/5537I can’t duplicate the third issue.
In reply to: Activity comments are not working@j0schi – If you’re currently on BuddyPress 2.0-beta-1, can you upgrade to 2.0-beta-2 and see if that fixes things?
If not, try removing the blog post activity item. Then head over to the blog post, edit it and resave it to regenerate the activity item and test the comment syncing again.
This should be fixed in 2.0-beta-1:
If you have a local environment for testing, please help us test.
In reply to: Buddypress 2.0 Beta 1 Bugs – Need Help! The group member count issue is because BuddyPress 2.0 made some changes to the group component to better optimize how data is fetched.
This affected the BP Group Hierarchy plugin, which caused your group member count issue.
You can either downgrade BuddyPress to v1.9.2, which John stated above or you can keep using the beta and use the developmental version of BP Group Hierarchy that fixes this issue:
https://github.com/ddean4040/BP-Group-HierarchyA .ZIP link can be found here:
https://github.com/ddean4040/BP-Group-Hierarchy/archive/master.zipNote that this is in development. If there are any further bugs with the groups component, please let the author of the plugin know.
In reply to: notifications showing as blank. You could be using an older theme, which needs the new notification templates.
Contact the theme developer and tell them to look at the following change:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/7688/Take note of the five additional files that need to be created and the change to
/members/single/home.phpIn reply to: Ajax ActivityI’ve just removed the offending comment. Thanks for the heads-up, @shanebp.
Hi focallocal,
Read this for a tentative fix:
https://buddypress.org/support/topic/buddypress-stopped-working-with-thesis-on-upgrade-from-1-8-to-1-9/#post-176829And reply in that thread to let us know if it fixes your problem.
Thanks to Qball7686 for posting a freely-available theme that runs into this problem.
I have a tentative fix for this. See:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/attachment/ticket/5301/5301.01.patchIf people who are having problems with their themes can test this fix and let us know if that works for them, that would be great.
If you say you tried Twenty Fourteen and BuddyPress 1.9 is not working, then it’s possible there is a plugin conflict somewhere.
This is probably related to this ticket:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/5021Can you list the plugins you are using that affect page content? Anything that tries to inject or modify the page content.
Appears to be a problem with your host. Use another plugin to determine the real IP.
Although it’s old, try this:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/real-ip/You can also search Google ‘wordpress real ip’ to find other solutions involving wp-config.php.
This is probably related:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/5301#comment:3Thesis probably has an unusual method for displaying page content. Atahualpa, another theme, suffers from the same issue.
Since Thesis is a paid theme, I do not have access to see how their templates are set up.
In reply to: add a column to BP_Groups_List_TableWe need to add some filters in order for cool plugin devs like yourself to add columns!
Please add an enhancement ticket on Trac so we can look at this in the next major release.
In reply to: Can’t find variable: jQueryBuddyPress utilizes WordPress’ version of jQuery.
But I can see how this would be a problem for custom themes relying on something like Zepto.
You can try adding some javascript directly after the Zepto library is called to declare the jQuery variable as an instance of Zepto.
Something like:
<script type="text/javascript"> if ( typeof jQuery == "undefined" ) var jQuery = Zepto; </script>Not sure if that will work at all, since Zepto is a lightweight-alternative to jQuery, but hopefully that gives you an idea.
