If this doesn’t fix the problem, let us know.
It might be the case that a plugin is overriding BuddyPress’ avatar URL, you could try the following in your theme’s
functions.phporwp-content/plugins/bp-custom.php:// Replace BP's avatar override filter at a higher priority: remove_filter( 'get_avatar_url', 'bp_core_get_avatar_data_url_filter', 10 ); add_filter( 'get_avatar_url', 'bp_core_get_avatar_data_url_filter', 99, 3 );In reply to: Create Group Link BrokenHi,
Can you reply to this thread?
This is to prevent forking the discussion for a similar problem.
Thanks!
Edit: The link above has been updated. Pasted the wrong link before.
In reply to: Users cant create groupsI cannot duplicate this.
What plugins are you using?
In reply to: Register Button Redirecting to Home PageYou might also want to view the following thread to see if it might be related to your problem:
https://buddypress.org/support/topic/registration-and-edit-profile-issue/#post-254061In reply to: Register Button Redirecting to Home PageNobody responded because a fresh BuddyPress install does not exhibit this problem and you didn’t provide enough details.
You can try disabling all your plugins except BuddyPress or changing your theme to see if the problem is with a plugin or theme.
In reply to: Logged in status not holdingThis is not a BuddyPress problem.
Try stripping down your install to just BuddyPress or disable any membership or authentication plugins you might have and try again.
In reply to: bp_core_fetch_avatar overrides everything ;-(If you do not want BP avatars, just remove BP’s avatar filter:
remove_filter( 'get_avatar_url', 'bp_core_get_avatar_data_url_filter', 10, 3 );This is assuming you are using BuddyPress 2.9.
In reply to: Buddypress avatars are blurry for post authorsThanks for the report.
If you are able to, can you see if the following will fix your problem?
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/attachment/ticket/7578/7578.01.patchIn reply to: Edit Profile Visibility ProblemsThis only takes effect for other created profile fields, not the “Name” field.
Try creating a new profile field and then you should be able to access the options you are looking for.
In reply to: Latest Stable VersionThanks for letting us know, bogski1208!
In reply to: 2.9 Group description turncoatedI’ve added a potential fix for this here:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/attachment/ticket/7577/7577.01.patchLet me know when you’ve had a chance to test.
In reply to: 2.9 Group description turncoatedThanks for the report. I’ve created a ticket here to track its progress:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/7577In reply to: Issues with new versionThere wasn’t any changes to
bp_is_active().Can you visit your server’s error log and paste the full entries?
It could be related to the filename of the avatar.
Can you provide that to us? Also, if you have a copy of the unmodified avatar for us to the test that would be great.
This has been filed as a bug, but was too late to make v2.9:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/7569There is a patch attached with a fix if you want to fix this temporarily.
In reply to: Get activity item title – best optionThe title should already be saved in activity meta.
$title = bp_activity_get_meta( bp_get_activity_id(), 'post_title' );This is assuming that the activity item you are checking for is from a blog post.
The problem is with your WPLMS theme.
Send a report to the theme developers.
In reply to: jQuery-cookie upgrade to js-cookieAlready reported.
In reply to: Idea: bp_activity_action as post formats exampleThere is nothing stopping you from implementing this yourself.
Your examples don’t really deviate too much from the default look though.
In reply to: PostID from GroupForumPermalink?Amin – You would have to ask your request on the bbPress forums – https://bbpress.org/forums
bbPress handles BuddyPress integration into the Groups component.
In reply to: Change Cover Image upload form is missingWordPress is on 4.8, not 4.9 unless you are using the development branch.
Can you try switching your theme to see if that fixes your issue? Also could be caused by a plugin conflict. You can also check your browser’s JS console to see what pops up.
In reply to: Cropping profile image brokenCan you list the filename of your photo? If it has accented (utf-8) characters, then there was an issue where the upload would not work properly. If that is the case with you, can you test the 2.9 beta to see if the issue is fixed?
Always try testing in a development environment if you can.
This feature isn’t implemented in bbPress yet, which is why you do not see the Comment button.
This should be fixed in BuddyPress 2.9, which is scheduled to be released next month.
If you want to test this fix now, you can try the BP 2.9-beta release:
In reply to: how to remove wp embed footer in activity shareIf the WordPress post is from your own site, you can disable the embed footer by adding the following to your theme’s
functions.php:remove_action( 'embed_footer', 'print_embed_sharing_dialog' );If the WordPress post is not from your own site, you cannot control the footer output for that item.
