In reply to: [New Plugin] CubePoints Buddypress Integration!
@gregfielding – It’s possible, but requires some additional code.
The forum posts are not deleted, but the username is removed from the forum post.
In reply to: redirecting to user domain using $bpYes, that’s right, but just curious why you have a “0” defined for the number of parameters being passed?
What does your full function look like?
In reply to: redirecting to user domain using $bpYou’re using the wrong action.
I think you should be looking at the “login_redirect” action.
Also you probably don’t want to redirect to the profile edit page on every single login, so a check should be made to see if (x) profile field is filled in, if it’s not, then continue with the login redirect.
In reply to: FAQ: How To, Code Snippets and SolutionsHow do I get that unified search results page like on the new buddypress.org site?
Brajesh Singh has posted a solution:

I’d recommend posting in the bbPress thread I mentioned above. Maybe read through everything once more to ensure you’re using the right script.
In reply to: BuddyPress.org’s Unified Search – How can I get it?Hey Brajesh, your link is fine. It’s a tutorial write-up and a plugin! Thanks for contributing!
One question: haven’t tested this yet, but does pagination work for each of the different components in the search results?
@shamus – Are you using a custom theme?
In reply to: sent messages time zoneIt’s a known issue:
https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/2203There is a patch in the ticket that fixes relative times.
In reply to: BuddyPress.org’s Unified Search – How can I get it?If you don’t mind dabbling with BP code… sitewide search could be implemented like this (I say “could” because I haven’t tried it yet).
First a form needs to be created with an input field. Then, you’d need to create a new page (in BuddyPress or a page in WordPress with a page template) and add a bunch of BP loops that checks for the same input field variable.
In reply to: since installing bp new users can not sign upAre you sure you enabled registrations? If you did enable it, you should see a “Sign up” button right next to “Login” in the BuddyBar.

In reply to: Hide AdminHey @sbrajesh, you’re right! Sorry about that! Was thinking off the top
In reply to: since installing bp new users can not sign upIn reply to: BBpress setup through buddypress plugin? Not sure if this will work:
https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/phpbb3-gt-bbpress-converter-beta-releaseIn reply to: Hide AdminThe snippet only works on WPMU.
If you’re using standard WP, replace is_site_admin() with if(current_user_can(‘manage_options’)) (thanks Brajesh).
Also, you could try adding the function in your theme’s functions.php (omit the add_action line).
In reply to: Hide Admin@scotm – if you read the end of that post, there’s a free solution noted by Brajesh.
In reply to: BBpress setup through buddypress plugin?Actually, you know what you might want to do is install bbPress externally, and use whatever bbPress import scripts exist out there.
Then re-run “BuddyPress > Forum setup” when you’re ready to integrate it into BuddyPress and select the existing install option. It might be wise to omit the forum setup from BuddyPress if you already have a large PHPBB forum post count.
I’ve noticed this problem as well, unfortunately it’s a bbPress issue.
So unless bbPress is patched, this problem will persist.A workaround is naming your topic title slightly differently.
In reply to: BBpress setup through buddypress plugin?Okay so now that you have the bbpress-admin plugin disabled, are you able to install the forums normally via “BuddyPress > Forums setup”?
https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/setting-up-a-new-installation/Ask your question about PHPBB > bbPress over on the bbPress forums.
Hey @scotm – That’s not the correct usage.
What I meant was copy the the template file I listed above in your child theme and remove everything in it.
Then use bp_profile_field_data(‘field=YOURFIELD’); to list only the xprofile fields you want to list (no need to use functions and remove actions here).
The other method is using a variation of this:
https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/faq-how-to-code-snippets-and-solutions/#post-13243Well, one question you can ask yourself is why you would create the same topic title over and over again?
@scotm – You have control of the template, of course you can remove the “Name” field!

Threads in the forums (which are powered by bbPress) are never actually deleted, they are marked as deleted.
It’s a bbPress thing.
