@mercime replied to the topic What Theme is suitable for "crowd sourcing" content creation/posting? in the forum Miscellaneous 11 years ago
@rickkumar Sorry, haven’t seen a theme with the all-in-one features you need. If you’re going to hire a developer, I suggest that they create the pinterest, instagram and twitter features as separate plugins which are BP-compatible. That way, you can change themes and keep the plugin features.

@rickkumar you can post an enhancement request in BuddyPress Trac. Heard that @sbrajesh is coming out with a BP Pages plugin sometime this month or next.

Roger Coathup replied to the topic Best way to enable facebook login? in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 11 years, 11 months ago
@rickkumar – I noticed loginradius have been spamming the Internet with fake users / testimonials for their product — so probably good to avoid that one.

Roger Coathup posted on the forum topic Can WordPress/BuddyPress provide BP web Hosting or Recommend a web host? in the group BuddyPress Hosting: 14 years, 1 month ago
@rickkumar – re: “I was wondering if folks at WordPress/BuddyPress can either provide web hosting” I think you may be confused to the nature of BuddyPress – it’s not a company with officials, structure, funds, etc. to set up / negotiate hosting contracts. BuddyPress is an open source software project, albeit one that is strictly controlled […]

rossagrant posted on the forum topic Could BP Media be configured to auto create an album for each member on signup? in the group BuddyPress Media: 14 years, 1 month ago
Rick, automatic naming of the created albums would be PERFECT!
It takes absolutely any complexity out of the plugin and would make for a perfect setup.
If that could be done that would be briliant.
Is that possible foxly? -

I’m back. …so, just to answer everyone’s questions: @rickkumar Q1: Per my understanding, videos/audios wonβt take any storage/bandwidth on our site if all these are embedded by our members or us. For example, if videos are embedded from youtube, then it will take youtube bandwidth. Right? That’s true, but remember, YouTube is not run by idiots. […]

@rickkumar if you aren’t looking to host the videos yourself I don’t see why you would need this plugin. If all the videos are going to be from youtube or vimeo or other sites, you just need to work on your page layouts and design.

alanchrishughes posted on the forum topic Video/youtube type functionality questions, help please! in the group BuddyPress Media: 14 years, 3 months ago
@rickkumar No I’m pretty sure all it does is converts the youtube url to an emdbeded video. If you are wanting individual pages for each video, I’ve read a bit about a “group blog” plugin or feature, each group would have its own blog and I would think then members of a group could post articles […]

@rickkumar you know if all you want to do is allow people to embed their videos on your social network, you don’t even need to wait for this plugin, just use

@rickkumar Sounds interesting man, good luck! You might want to go ahead and get a standard Buddypress community going though just to keep the 100 visits a day from loosing interest. You can get a head start on building the community this way, then in a month or two when this media plugin is stable and […]
