In reply to: Make a page that is unique to a group?
Use the Group Extension API.
In reply to: Some users aren’t showing up on front endMembers need to log in at least once before they appear on the front end.
If you have questions about bbPress ( forums ), please ask on their support forum.
In reply to: bp_has_members multiple params with arrayYou can’t pass an array of ids in that manner. Pass a csv string.
For example, assuming $custom_ids is an array:$gsxrgeek = 'include=' . implode(",", $custom_ids); $gsxrgeek .= '&type=alphabetical'; if ( bp_has_members( $gsxrgeek ) ) //etcIn reply to: Get current message and recipient id in BuddyPressTake a look at this file:
buddypress\bp-messages\bp-messages-actions.php
Infunction messages_new_messagethere is this hook:
do_action_ref_array( 'messages_message_sent', array( &$message ) );In reply to: bbPress Error after updating BuddyPressIt’s a very simple patch, so you can do it manually.
Simply find and open the file that was changed.
Then paste or type in the change.
[The Line Numbers might be a little different in your file.]In reply to: bbPress Error after updating BuddyPressThe BBP_Forums_Group_Extension issue is known and there is a fix.
See this ticket and link to patch.In reply to: [Resolved] Bug?It’s not a bug. Read this.
In reply to: Buddypress Member Filter SearchHave you tried BP Profile Search ?
In reply to: Spam userBeing able to create a group without logging in is more than ‘clever’.
There have been a few similar reports over the last couple of years – always specific to groups – suggesting that there is a ‘hole’ somewhere, maybe in BP.I don’t know what the solution is and have been unable to replicate the problem.
@leighgregg
What version of WP and BP are you using?
Are you using any additional plugins or code re BP Groups?There was an issue that was fixed for BP 2.2
In reply to: Member pagination not working on custom member pageAre you aware of the
includeparameter forbp_has_members?Your use of the
excludeparameter is very inefficient. It might be okay on sites with only a few hundred members, but would be a performance bottleneck for large numbers of members.In reply to: Private messaging user blocking/ignoring?I am leaning toward Buddyblock but would like to wait for this functionality to be introduced to the core product to ensure compatibility and support down the road.
BuddyBlock is compatible with BuddyPress 1.7 or higher, including BuddyPress 2.2
BuddyBlock will be supported down the road.In reply to: bp_get_member_type() is not working in the loopBTW if I use bp_get_member_type( ‘123’ )
Strange that it would accept a string.
Please also try with an integer:bp_get_member_type( 123 )In reply to: Private messaging user blocking/ignoring?I wonder if there’s a plugin that does this now.
Yes, BuddyBlock
In reply to: How to exclude hidden field from searchIt sounds like a bug.
Please create a ticket on trac.
Use the same user / password you use here.In reply to: How to make section of profile private?rhetorical questions…
Did you try it?
Is the hook I mentioned also in that template?In reply to: How to hide visibility options for empty valuesNice hat.
Yes, the use of
bp_field_has_data()can be a bit confusing.
Remember that in this context, rather than check the field value, it checks if there is data in the visibility setting for that field – which will always be true.
Andbp_the_profile_field_valuewill be NULL for the same reason.Try this:
<?php while ( bp_profile_fields() ) : bp_the_profile_field(); ?> <?php $this_field = xprofile_get_field_data( bp_get_the_profile_field_id(), bp_displayed_user_id(), 'comma' ); if( !empty( $this_field ) ) : ?> <tr <?php bp_field_css_class(); ?>> <td class="field-name"><?php bp_the_profile_field_name(); ?></td> <td class="field-visibility"><?php bp_profile_settings_visibility_select(); ?></td> </tr> <?php endif; ?> <?php endwhile; ?>In reply to: How to make section of profile private?You could also leave the navigation alone and either hack this file:
achievements\templates\achievements\achievements\loop-achievements.phpOr run a user check and redirect on this hook in that file:
do_action( 'dpa_template_before_achievements_loop_block' );In reply to: How to make section of profile private?Minor: You can use
bp_is_my_profile()instead ofbp_loggedin_user_id() == bp_displayed_user_id()And you don’t need the $bp global.
+1
In reply to: [Resolved] Creating the forum and groupsPlease provide the versions of WP and BP that you are using.
What theme are you using?
If you switch to a WP theme like 2014, does the issue still exist?In reply to: Group Page is BLANK???Duplicate of https://buddypress.org/support/topic/creating-the-forum-and-groups/
Please do not double post.
In reply to: Edit Profile Redirects to different pageYour best bet is to talk to NextGen. It’s probably a known issue. If you do, tell them what versions of WP, BP, bbPress and NextGen you have installed. Ditto re your theme.
Try:
function david_group_link_to_forum( $link ) { if( ! bp_is_group() ) $link .= 'forum/'; return $link; } add_filter('bp_get_group_permalink', 'david_group_link_to_forum', 11, 1 );This should work on group links on the all Groups page.
fyi – In activity stream, it works on group avatars, but not group names.In reply to: How to hide admin’s username from his profileA hacker only would need to hack my pass.
How would a hacker know you are the site-admin?
The usual solution is to not use ‘admin’ as your username or display name.
And use a very strong password.…the problem is from one of my plugin
Which plugin?
