In reply to: Variable array to another functional variable
Actually, since you only need a one dimensional array, use
$wpdb->get_colinstead.https://codex.wordpress.org/Class_Reference/wpdb#SELECT_a_Column
In reply to: Variable array to another functional variablePlease use the
codebutton when posting code.It looks like you are passing an array of objects and each object contains a user id.
But what you want is an array of user ids.You can specify the output type of
get_results.
Read: https://codex.wordpress.org/Class_Reference/wpdb#SELECT_Generic_ResultsOr you could loop thru your current results and create an array of the type expected by
messages_new_messageand then pass it to yoursend_msgfunction.In reply to: Rol in cover page of profileTry deleting this:
$profilebuddy = bp_is_user_profile() ; if ( !$profilebuddy ) return '';And doing this:
function devb_show_role_on_profile() { global $wp_roles; if ( ! bp_is_user() ) { return ''; } // etcYou are using this custom filter hook:
eo_title_content_html_below_title
But you do not indicate what that hook is actually filtering.
IOW:return '';does not make sense without some context.
What is the full line for the hook?apply_filters( // somethingIn reply to: Make MyGroups the default directory listingYou can use this filter hook:
apply_filters( 'bp_nouveau_get_groups_directory_nav_items', $nav_items );
Found in:buddypress\bp-templates\bp-nouveau\includes\groups\functions.phpYou can definitely add a nav item with that hook.
And you should be able to reorder the existing items.Take a look at the nav item structure:
function pp_groups_dir_nav ( $nav ) { echo '<pre>'; var_dump( $nav ); echo '</pre>'; return $nav; } add_filter( 'bp_nouveau_get_groups_directory_nav_items', 'pp_groups_dir_nav' );But you are writing a custom theme, so it would be easier to write a custom function to replace
function bp_nouveau_get_groups_directory_nav_itemsrather than filter the current output.In reply to: Buddypress UsersGreat, you’re all set.
In reply to: Buddypress UsersIf you go to the all members page on the front end of your site, how many members are listed?
In reply to: Buddypress UsersDid you try following the instructions?
- Paste in your theme functions.php
- Load the site in a browser
- Then REMOVE this function from your theme functions.php
In reply to: Buddypress Users/* * Paste in your theme functions.php or in bp-custom.php. * Load the site in a browser * Then REMOVE this function from your theme functions.php or bp-custom.php. */ function buddypress_add_last_activity() { $members = get_users( 'fields=ID' ); // $members = get_users( 'fields=ID&role=subscriber' ); foreach ( $members as $user_id ) { bp_update_user_last_activity( $user_id, bp_core_current_time() ); } } add_action('bp_init', 'buddypress_add_last_activity' );In reply to: Filtering Activity Feed by Custom CategoryIn reply to: How to sort members list by xprofile value?This uses the activity loop as an example, but the approach could be modified for the members loop.
Add custom filters to loops and enjoy them within your plugin
In reply to: How to get the default settings to work> I cannot see any of the default fields on the Registration page
On this page …/wp-admin/options-general.php
Is this option selected: Membership > Anyone can registerThen, on this page …/wp-admin/admin.php?page=bp-page-settings
Did you assign the ‘Register’ page?Remember that you should not be able to see the register page if you are logged in.
If you still cannot see the fields:
What are the default fields that you expect to see?
Try switching themes momentarily to a WP theme like 2019 to see if the issue is related to your preferred theme.
In reply to: Stumped: Profile Image … Gone…Did you also try the standard debugging steps?
- check your browser’s console
- turn on WP_DEBUG and check the logs
- switch themes momentarily
- remove bp-custom.php
The database is for data, not code.
There may be a ‘bad’ setting in the options table, but you’ll have to find it; maybe something about avatars or BP.In reply to: Site-Wide Activity Comment IssueDid you check your browser’s console for javascript errors ?
Are you using a caching plugin or other code that minifies javascript or uses ‘lazy loading’ ?
If so, try turning it off and see if the issue persists.In reply to: [MEMBERS GRID ELEMENT] Visual ComposerBuddyPress does not include a ‘Profile Builder’.
You should ask the people who created ‘Profile Builder’.>there is no way to deactivate it
So you deactivated the plugin via the plugins screen in wp-admin?
What makes you think BuddyPress is still running?Using ftp or a file manager, you can always change the buddypress folder name in the plugins directory. And WP will deactivate the plugin.
If you still think it is running, then it is code from: some other plugin, your theme, some custom code that was added to your site.
In reply to: 3 profile photos in carouselNo. That area is for a single static image.
In reply to: Missing SOME group buttonsWe aren’t logged in, so we cannot see or not see, the buttons.
If you created the group – you will not see the button because you are already a member.
Trying logging in as a Subscriber who does not belong to any groups and check for the buttons.
To rule out a theme issue, try switching momentarily to a WP theme like 2019 and check for the buttons.
In reply to: Google Maps for user profiles?This premium plugin will include a Google map on profiles: BP Maps for Members
In reply to: BP Group Email Subscription – different triggers?These are the support forums for BuddyPress.
You have a better chance of getting an answer if you use the support forum for Buddypress Group Email Subscription .In reply to: Advices & tips for complex configIf you are good with html, css and php, you can overload BP themes and make changes.
afaik, you can do the same with bbPress templates for forums, but you should ask on their support forums.
In reply to: Don’t show new friendships in activity streamThe plugin you mention should do the job.
But these are not the support forums for that plugin.
You should ask your question on the support forum for that plugin:
https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/bp-activity-filter/In reply to: Advices & tips for complex configDo not use multisite unless you absolutely need it.
The face that you need to ask, strongly suggests that you should be using a single install.For the rest of your questions, install the plugins you think you need and test, test, test.
If you still have questions, return to this topic and ask them.In reply to: Change activation email contentDid you try this: https://codex.buddypress.org/emails/#filter-from-address-and-name
In reply to: Activity page tag optionsYou’ll need to use this filter:
apply_filters( 'bp_core_get_suggestions', $retval, $args );For more info, find that filter in this file:
...wp-content\plugins\buddypress\bp-core\bp-core-functions.phpHow you retrieve the ‘denied’ users will depend on how they are handled by the other code or plugins.
If you do not know how to get an array of the denied user ids, you should ask the creators of that other code or plugins.In reply to: how can visitors register to my siteRight now I can see it pointing to https://hagdahlseniorcenter.com/register but there’s no registration form there, the plugin should provide some way to add it”
Did you follow the instructions on how to set up a register page?
