In reply to: Problem with form
function ghostpool_reset_password_successis not a BuddyPress function.Some code on your site, perhaps in a plugin or your theme, is adding that function.
You may need to switch themes and/or deactivate other plugins in order to find the code that is adding that function.In reply to: Change From Address and Name in Notification EmailsPlease use the
code buttonwhen sharing code.It would be a useful option in the WP backend.
For now, you need ftp or cpanel access to the site.
You can place that code in your theme > functions.php
If it does not work in that file, try placing it in bp-custom.phpUse the filter to add a token…
function maybe_add_tokens_bp_email( $formatted_tokens, $tokens, $obj ) { if ( isset( $formatted_tokens['requesting-user.name'] ) && isset( $formatted_tokens['requesting-user.id'] ) ) { $user_info = get_userdata( $formatted_tokens['requesting-user.id'] ); $formatted_tokens['memberemail'] = $user_info->user_email; } return $formatted_tokens; } add_filter( 'bp_email_set_tokens', 'maybe_add_tokens_bp_email', 11, 3 );Then edit the Membership request for group email to add that token.
Something like:Member Email: {{memberemail}}In reply to: REMOVE EDIT OPTION FROM PROFILEI just used them to insure a unique name for the function.
Change them or don’t.In reply to: REMOVE EDIT OPTION FROM PROFILEPut this in your theme functions.php or in bp-custom.php
function kjc_remove_edit_tab() { bp_core_remove_subnav_item( 'profile', 'edit' ); } add_action( 'bp_ready', 'kjc_remove_edit_tab' );LH BuddyPress doesn’t work normally
What is LH BuddyPress ?
Do you mean LH Private BuddyPress ?
If so, you should use the support forum for that plugin.In reply to: Buddy Press doesn’t support plain permalinksBuddyPress does not support plain permalinks.
In reply to: Change the way BuddyPress refers to ‘members’I see this is hardcoded in ./bp-members/bp-members-template.php …
The gettext calls in that file all use the Text Domain: buddypress.
iow. they refer to the buddypress.pot file.
For example:_n( 'Viewing %1$s - %2$s of %3$s member', 'Viewing %1$s - %2$s of %3$s members', $members_template->total_member_count, 'buddypress' )
Note the ‘buddypress’ in that example.I can’t spot anything in the PO language file…
Search the .pot file for
Viewing %1$s - %2$s of %3$s memberand you will find results.There is lots of info on how to use a language file.
Specific to BuddyPress:Try something like:
$group_ids = groups_get_user_groups( bp_displayed_user_id() ); foreach( $group_ids["groups"] as $id ) { $group = groups_get_group( array( 'group_id' => $id) ); // var_dump( $group ); // see all the fields $link = bp_get_group_permalink( $group ); echo $link; }In reply to: All My Subscribers can Edit PagesHow do I remove those privileges?
Some code on your site is adding those privileges – perhaps on login.
Now that you’ve identified the issue only you, or some developer that you hire, can solve the issue.In reply to: Registration not workingHave you tried turning on wp_debug and then examining the log?
https://codex.wordpress.org/WP_DEBUGHave you looked at your browsers’ javascript console ?
It shows _wpnonce errors. Probably related to your avatar upload code on the reg page.
Have you tried turning off the avatar upload on the reg page?Have you tried turning off s2member ?
Why do you have 2 reg pages ?
http://gym.juliabuckleyfitness.com/wp-login.php?action=registerIn reply to: All My Subscribers can Edit PagesPerhaps it is your theme ?
Try switching momentarily to a WP theme like 2017.Are you sure that you have not granted edit privileges to subscribers ?
Use a plugin like this to find out:In reply to: Buddypress and bimber theme/snaxAre there default settings in wordpress itself that controls caching?
No.
Make sure to check your mu-plugins folder – if you have one.
Your hosting provider may put a cache plugin in there.@wickeninc Thanks for the details and solution.
@mihrkhan You need to contact rtMedia support and explain the issue that their plugin is causing for you.
In reply to: Buddypress and bimber theme/snaxFirst, turn off any caching system or plugin after emptying the cache.
If the issues persists……I’m worried about switching themes to test that.
You need to eliminate your theme as the issue. Back up everything, including your database, and then switch to a WP theme like 2017 and test.
To test it the issue is in your theme, try switching momentarily to a WP theme like 2017.
Do you have any plugins or custom code that affects activity ?
If so, try turning them off.Do you have any plugins or custom code that minifies javascript?
If so, try turning them off.iow. I cannot duplicate your issue. So I suggest ways you can narrow down the cause.
In reply to: Cannot get buddypress to work.So…
You have created a blank page with this as the slug: register
You have assigned that page to ‘Register’ on this page:
yoursite.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=bp-page-settingsYou have checked the ‘ Anyone can register’ box on this page:
yoursite.com/wp-admin/options-general.phpAnd you still get a blank page when logged out and visiting that page ?
It may be theme related.
Try switching momentarily to a WP theme like 2017 and then log out and visit the register page.Instead of a register hook, try using an activation hook:
do_action( 'bp_core_activated_user', $user_id, $key, $user );So something like:
function change_user_defaults( $user_id, $key, $user ) { // whatever you need to do } add_action( 'bp_core_activated_user', 'change_user_defaults', 99, 3 );In reply to: Hide “Modify” ButtonIf you are not seeing code now in your theme then you could create a copy of this file:
buddypress\bp-templates\bp-legacy\buddypress\members\single\profile.php
Place it in the same theme location you mentioned above and make your edits.If you are using the BP Nouveau template pack, then make a copy of this file:
buddypress\bp-templates\bp-nouveau\buddypress\members\single\profile.phpIn reply to: Get ID of user of current profile pageIn reply to: Regarding Searching Member DirectoryThe easiest approach, imo, would be to remove the current member search input from the members directory.
For example, create an overload of this file and delete the code re member search:
buddypress\bp-templates\bp-legacy\buddypress\members\index.phpThen get this plugin: BP Profile Search
And configure a custom member search that only includes the fields you want.In reply to: Custom admin menu accessIs there a way to force that this user only has the Groups menu element on his admin dashboard?
I do not think so.
They would need this capability:bp_moderate
But only users that can ‘manage_options’ on this site can ‘bp_moderate’.
And you do not want to give themmanage_optionscapabilityIn reply to: BuddyPress LearnPress tabsThese are the forums for just the BuddyPress plugin.
Please direct your questions about LearnPress – BuddyPress Integration to the creators of that plugin.In reply to: Activity Feed BannerDid you look at the activity-loop template?
Have you tried using the hook for adding content at the top?The hook is
bp_before_activity_loopFor example:
function add_banner() { echo 'this will be a banner'; } add_action( 'bp_before_activity_loop', 'add_banner' );Or you could place it higher on the page by using this hook:
bp_before_directory_activityIn reply to: Filter by group (not activity type)If you are not an experienced developer, you may be better off hiring such a person.
Until you write some code and ask specific questions about it, here are some general pointers…
Take a look at how the activities are restricted on a group activity page.
There are some codex pages that provide info:
Add custom filters to loops and enjoy them within your plugin
