In reply to: Setting up Forums and Sub Forums
BuddyPress uses bbpress.org for all forums.
Please use their support, bbpress.org/forums, for questions specific to forums. In reply to: Problems with loginYou need to do some basic debugging.
Turn on WP debug and then check your error logs.
It may be a theme issue.
Try switching momentarily to a WP theme like 2016.
Also try deactivating all login plugins.Check your browser javascript console.
One of the errors there may be related to your theme or some js minify code.In reply to: SHOW GROUPS ADMINSWP no longer allows you to add code in the editor unless it can test the code first – otherwise it throws that error.
You should not be adding the code in that location.
You should add it to bp-custom.php or to the functions.php file in your theme or child theme.
In reply to: Problems after update to 4.0.Glad you got it working.
When you post error messages on public sites, you should strip out the bits that identify your site.
I’ve made that change on your OP.Are you using BuddyPress 4.0 ?
If so, you can file a ticket here.
Be sure to state the BP version and the steps needed to reproduce your issue.
In reply to: Buddypress groupIf you are referring to BP 4.0, and the Fatal Error re add new members in wp-admin > Groups > Group > Edit, then you are correct.
A bug report has been filed. In reply to: Missing Member and Group NavigationI cannot duplicate this issue and don’t know why you are seeing it.
Perhaps the issue is in your theme.
Try using Nouveau with a WP theme like 2016.
If the menus return, then you should follow up with the creators of that theme. In reply to: Missing Member and Group NavigationDid you try to narrow down the issue ?
For example:
Did you try deactivating LH Private BuddyPress ?
If the menus return, then you should follow up with the creators of the LH Private BuddyPress plugin.Did you try switching from Nouveau to the other template pack – BuddyPress Legacy ?
In reply to: Not Working For MultiSite InstallDeactivate BP from the Network Admin screen.
Then you should be able to activate it on each subsite. In reply to: Problems with loginIt sounds like a conflict with the wpuf plugin. If you deactivate it, do the issues go away?
Your best bet is to ask the creators of wpuf plugin – especially since they have a premium module for BP.In reply to: Problems with user registrationYou describe a complicated installation.
It will be difficult for anyone to help unless they’ve seen that exact issue before, but…Have you tried the basic debugging steps?
Check your browser javascript console for errors.
Check your error logs – turn on WP Debug.Momentarily…
Try turning off other plugins.
Try switching to a WP theme like 2016.In reply to: Not Working For MultiSite InstallAnd what do you expect to see that you are not seeing ?
Ditto re functionality. In reply to: Not Working For MultiSite InstallI assume you meant bbPress 2.5.14
Are you on BuddyPress 3.2.0 ?I’m able to see bbpress and buddypress on the admin site…
By ‘see’ you mean in the Network Admin dashboard, you can see both plugins on the plugins page and they both say ‘Network Deactivate’ under the plugin name?
On the Network Admin Dashboard, I see tabs for ‘Activity’ and ‘Groups’, both are BP components.
Under ‘Settings’, I see BuddyPress, but not ‘Forums’.If I add a Group, it does so only on the primary site on the network – but all the Settings are only on the Network Admin screen.
I do not see any dashboard links re BuddyPress on any site within the network.
For ‘Forums’ ( bbPress ), I see a tab and a Settings link for all sites in the network.
This may be correct, although confusing.
I just want to confirm that we are seeing the same things. In reply to: buddypress add images to articleIt sounds like you are using a plugin or theme feature that allows users to create posts ( articles ).
You would probably need to add something like a tinyMice editor to the textarea for the article.
And enable images in that editor. However – your question is well beyond the scope of these forums, and is best addressed to the creators of the ‘article’ code. If they cannot help you, you’ll need to hire a developer.
In reply to: SHOW GROUPS ADMINSYou can use this hook:
do_action( 'bp_directory_groups_item' );For example, this will display a link to the first admin for each group:
function diego_add_group_admin_info() { $group_id = bp_get_group_id(); $group_admins = groups_get_group_admins( $group_id ); $admin_id = $group_admins[0]->user_id; echo bp_core_get_userlink( $admin_id ); } add_action( 'bp_directory_groups_item', 'diego_add_group_admin_info' );… it sure looks like it’s being loaded but it just keeps reloading the same page
Well, it’s loading the slug for a single group.
But something is pulling in another template – perhaps the groups-loop template. It seems like your profile pages are heavily customized – can you try it with the standard BP templates ?
I cannot duplicate this issue.
Tested with the latest versions of WP & BP with Nouveau, in several themes. If you feel you have an issue that can be duplicated by others, you can create a ticket here.
Be sure to include a link to this thread.
Be sure to include all the steps necessary to recreate this issue. It’s a bit hard to tell..
But the browser url shows that the single group page is being loaded.
It’s not ‘just loops back to the Groups page’.
So the issue is: what is being loaded on the single group page ? And why ? And why is the layout pushed right ?
Only you or your developers can answer that. Thanks for the comprehensive description, and supporting materials.
However, your movie and screenshots cannot be seen without registering.
Perhaps you could publicly post them elsewhere temporarily. In reply to: User message inbox issuesThanks for reporting this issue.
Since you are using WP 5.0 beta, some issues are expected. To make the issue is not related to your theme, please try switching momentarily to a WP theme like 2016 and see if the issue persists.
If it does not, then the issue is probably related to your theme.
Otherwise, please provide this info:
- BuddyPress version
- which BP template pack you are using – see wp-admin > Settings > BuddyPress > Options
- any javascript errors in your browser’s console
- any errors in the php error log for your website
… taking my own profile as example, on the domain/members page it shows last online 3hrs ago, but on the right sidebar is shows last active minutes ago.
Are you using a cache plugin?
If so, try clearing all caches. But please note that you are probably referring to 2 separate items.
afaik,
last onlineis not a BuddyPress feature, and is being added by your theme, a plugin or some custom code. And
last activeis generated by BuddyPress. So, if
last activeis accurate, butlast onlineis not, then please contact the creator of that code.In reply to: Knowledge exchanging communityWill it also be possible that members publish their own lessons on the community site
Yes, depending on which solution you use to create lessons.
Your question is better asked of a solution like LearnDash. In reply to: buddypresYour current registration page url ends with
__trashed, so your link is still pointing to that page.
You can edit links or create custom links by going to …wp-admin > Appearance > MenusBut you cannot just replace the register page, if that is what you did.
Have you read the
modifying-the-registration-formYou can customize the layout by editing the template.
If you are using the Legacy Template pack, this is the file:
buddypress\bp-templates\bp-legacy\buddypress\members\register.phpInstead of editing core files, you can overload a template in your child theme.
Read this.In reply to: Connect buddypress fields to Event ManagerPlease address your question to the support staff at Event Manager.
In reply to: Knowledge exchanging communityWP and BP can do a lot of what you need.
You’ll also need something like LearnDash for lessons.
And wooCommerce for ecommerce.afaik, there are free versions of those plugins.
So you can set up a test site and try them all out together.
Then you should have a better idea of whether you need the premium versions, or some other plugins. At some point you will need to hire an experienced WP / BP developer to close any functionality gaps and perhaps write some custom code.
If you have wooCommerce or LearnDash questions, please ask them on their support sites.
In reply to: How to display the user name?In the context of the
members-loop, usebp_get_member_user_id()to get the user ID.
Then use that ID for whatever you need.
