In reply to: Comments showing of Profile edit page
You need to find out which theme template your My Profile page is using – maybe single.php.
You may need to make a custom template and remove the comments call from it.In reply to: Too many 508 errorsThe error message “508 Resource Limit Is Reached” appears when your account is constantly exceeding the resources assigned to it – these can include CPU usage, RAM usage and/or the number of concurrent processes running under your hosting account.
The only solution is to talk to your hosting provider about increasing the resources available to you.
In reply to: Creating a Custom Component Without PluginMaybe, but not a good idea.
For a custom BP component, it is always best to create a plugin.
Use the existing BP components as a reference – it’s not hard to create a new one and you get the benefits of the kind of filters you need.In reply to: get all values from xprofile data fieldsI used xprofile_get_field_data($field, $user_id, $multi_format); function and used it is working but I read about this function and found user id is the optional but when I did not give user id so it will not display the data.
$user_idis optional if you are looking a the profile page for a member. In that situation,bp_displayed_user_id()is used to provide the$user_id
Otherwise you have to provide the$user_id.Re your second question: you need to ask the creators of the “custom post type extended filed plugin” that you used to create the dropdown.
In reply to: Logs When a User Deletes Account?afaik, No.
In reply to: Member Directory Added To Profile DropdownTo prevent non-members from viewing the members directory you can use this plugin:
BP Simple PrivateIn reply to: buddypress shortcodesIt’s in the codebase. By support, I mean shortcodes that you write will be parsed.
In reply to: buddypress shortcodesafaik, there aren’t any in BP.
There is support for shortcodes that you or others write for plugins and themes.In reply to: Ephemeral MessagesYou could also do it manually using BP Bulk Delete.
In reply to: BuddyPress GroupsThe widget’s ajax call does not check to see who is viewing it.
So only public groups will appear; hidden & private groups will not appear even though you are a member.
You could write your own widget that uses the logged-in member’s id.
Use the group widget code as a reference:
buddypress\bp-groups\bp-groups-widgets.phpIn reply to: Members not showing in member listMembers will not show up in the members loop until they have logged-in at least once.
In reply to: Buddypress Activity ControlI think you want to disable the Activity component for everyone except site admins.
If so, the solution is in Slava’s BuddyPress newsletter. @slaffik
Go to the last entry on this thread:

In reply to: Repairing InstallationHave you customized any BP templates?
Either in the plugin or in your child theme?Look at this file, it’s the one you should be using.
buddypress\bp-templates\bp-legacy\buddypress\members\single\messages\compose.phpAre you using the BP Default theme? You shouldn’t.
It may be a theme conflict – test by momentarily switching to a WP theme like 2015.
In reply to: Consume REST API – mobile native APPThat is the official repo. It is active even though you don’t see any recent commits. Contributors are working on their own forks. The api is still being developed and is not ready for production use. It’s a big project and you can get involved if you wish.
In reply to: Customizing Member HeaderYes, it’s called a template overload.
In reply to: Turning off emailsThis should stop emails about new messages:
// stop new message notification emails add_action( 'messages_message_sent', 'unhook_messages_notification_new_message', 9 ); function unhook_messages_notification_new_message(){ remove_action( 'messages_message_sent', 'messages_notification_new_message', 10 ); }You should be able to use the same approach for other BP emails.
In reply to: Get all values of a XProfile fieldYou could use
xprofile_get_field_id_from_namefirst.In reply to: How to delete fields from extended profile?Try going to
.../wp-admin/users.php?page=bp-profile-setup.
If the fields appear there, you should be able to delete them.In reply to: how to copy the result of widget to send in email?You’ll need to look at the code for the plugin you mention, and find out how they retrieve results for use in populating that widget.
Then run a cron job once a day that gets the same results and use those results to build an email.
Once you’ve done that, it will be sent every day, automatically.
If you aren’t a developer, you will need to hire one.
You can use the
bp_notification_settingshook to add the html options to the members’ notification page.Then you need to populate those options with any saved values – perhaps the other plugin has hooks for that.
Then you need to handle those options when the Notifications page options are submitted – again, perhaps the other plugin had hooks for that.
So it can be done, but you’ll need a thorough understanding of the other plugin and the Notifications handlers for BP.
In reply to: Anyone Know How I can Get Buddypress version 2.8.1In reply to: Add New Tab Private to each userHow to add tabs and sub-tabs:
https://gist.github.com/shanebp/5d3d2f298727a0a036e5Add the unique content by writing your code in the …_screen_content functions. For example,
function animals_screen_content()Change
'user_has_access' => bp_is_my_profile()to'user_has_access' => trueif you want everyone to see subtabs.In reply to: Notice: Undefined variableYou need to contact the creator of that plugin: ‘rating-system’
In reply to: Hide activity updates in member directoryPut it in your theme/functions.php
In reply to: Hide activity updates in member directorySince you don’t want to use the child theme / template approach, you could set the update to an empty string…
function filter_bp_get_member_latest_update( $update_content, $r ) { $update_content = ''; return $update_content; }; add_filter( 'bp_get_member_latest_update', 'filter_bp_get_member_latest_update', 10, 2 );
