In reply to: Weird message after first login
What does the message say in English?
It looks like a site-wide notice that is dismissed on first login.
Do you have a function or plugin that displays a notice to new users?In reply to: How to display a custom field?You don’t explain the context of
order.php.bp_get_member_profile_datais meant for use in the context of members loop, etc.You can use it outside that context, but you need to pass in the user id.
$args = array( 'field' => 'Opleiding', 'user_id' => bp_loggedin_user_id() ); $opleiding_field = bp_get_profile_field_data($args);You can also use this approach:
xprofile_get_field_data( $field, $user_id = 0, $multi_format = 'array' )
For example:$user_id = bp_loggedin_user_id(); $opleiding_field = xprofile_get_field_data( 'Opleiding', bp_loggedin_user_id(), $multi_format = 'comma' );Yes, it can be confusing.
You should always find & review the function you are trying to use within the codebase.
Doing so will reveal what the function expects to receive.In reply to: Favourites in SidebarYou aren’t providing enough info.
You might get feedback on your code if you create a gist and post the link here.
Please do not copy & paste your plugin code on this site.You could also learn by studying the code in the plugin linked above.

In reply to: position profile field descriptionWhere are you viewing the profile field?
On a member profile page?
If so, you can use this php functionbp_the_profile_field_description()in a template overload ofbuddypress\bp-templates\bp-legacy\buddypress\members\single\profile\profile-loop.php.If you mean the register page, create a template overload of that template
buddypress\bp-templates\bp-legacy\buddypress\members\register.php
and move the call tobp_the_profile_field_description()wherever you want it.I don’t think you can do it with just css.
In reply to: admin only field visible to certain other usersYou will need to create a template overload of this file:
buddypress\bp-templates\bp-legacy\buddypress\members\single\profile\profile-loop.phpAnd write a conditional to handle the visibility of that field.
What is
[UPB_profile_list]?
A shortcode?
If so, where and why is it being called?
Try switching to a theme like WP 2013.
If the problems go away, you know there are issues in your preferred theme.What is

You need to add the widget

View it where?
And only admins have admin rights anywhere on the site, so your question needs clarification.
In reply to: Categorise Users by XProfile FieldSee this for an example of collecting user ids based on xprofile field:
https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/loops-reference/the-members-loop/If you plan to use the members loop code, BP will reorder the members based on last_activity.
But you can preserve the order by using theuser_idsfield.
More info: https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/bp_user_query/#code-examplesYou may be able to accomplish your task via
bp_parse_args, but I’m not sure if you can preserve the order:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/recently-registered/Like WP, BuddyPress can scale to millions of users – IF – you provide the necessary server resources.
In reply to: Where to find code for “Create a Group” buttonThe above is wrong – unless you are using the bp-default theme – not recommended.
‘Hide’ the Create a Group link by turning it off in Groups Settings > Group Creation
.../wp-admin/admin.php?page=bp-settingsIn reply to: Where to find code for “Create a Group” buttonCreate a template overload of this file and remove that code:
buddypress\bp-themes\bp-default\groups\index.phpCorrection: This is wrong – see below.
I have asked somebody to create the website from scratch again with their own coding from scratchThen you need to ask person why the snippets no longer work.
To stop the too many redirects error – remove the gist code show in the comment by unsalkorkmaz
In reply to: Unable to Restore Events in the Bin/TrashBP doesn’t provide functionality for Events – groups or otherwise.
You are using another plugin or custom code for that.
The inability to restore Events is due to something in your code – possibly the theme.In reply to: Template file not overrideYour directory structure is wrong.

In reply to: Buddypress privacy for tabsFor standard BP profile tabs, try:
function zhubr_remove_profile_nav_item( $nav ) { if ( ! bp_is_my_profile() ) $nav = ''; return $nav; } add_filter('bp_get_displayed_user_nav_notifications', 'zhubr_remove_profile_nav_item', 20, 1 ); add_filter('bp_get_displayed_user_nav_groups', 'zhubr_remove_profile_nav_item', 20, 1 ); // add additional calls for other tabsTo remove custom tabs, try:
function zhubr_remove_custom_profile_tab() { if ( bp_is_user() && ! bp_is_my_profile() ) bp_core_remove_nav_item( 'events' ); } add_action( 'bp_ready', 'zhubr_remove_custom_profile_tab', 25 );In reply to: wall pageThe activity filter can be removed from the template.
Ask BuddyBoss which one you should adjust and how.In reply to: Repeating Group TabsWhich theme are you using?
Does the issue persist if you switch to a WP theme such as 2013?Are you using a caching plugin?
If so, are you caching objects? Don’t.In reply to: wall pageBP does not provide a ‘wall’ tab.
You are using a custom plugin or theme – perhaps BuddyBoss?
Have you tried asking them>
