In reply to: Fatal Error HELP!
I custom edited my BP
Since nobody knows what you did, how can anyone answer your questions?
In order to maybe get answers, you will need to provide access to your installation.In reply to: Fatal Error HELP!Which version of BP are you using?
There is no such file in the current version of BP – 2.4.0
.../wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-core.phpIn reply to: Changing wording on restriction pageThat message is not generated by BuddyPress.
It is most probably generated by a membership plugin.
You should submit your question to the support system for that plugin.In reply to: How to Add Another Tab to Buddypress Profile PageIn reply to: How to Add Another Tab to Buddypress Profile PageExample of adding tabs.
The code goes in your-theme/functions.php or in bp-custom.php or in a custom plugin file.How you put content inside those pages will require ability as a developer.
In reply to: post type –> buddypress supportproviding archive of specific type post
Creating such a page is easy and well documented as a standard WP task.
The issue is that you want such a page for each user.
If you use the standard approach – how do you determine which user’s posts to display?
Creating a page or pages as I suggest above is the usual solution to that problem.
Simply usebp_displayed_user_id()as the value for the author parameter inWP_Query.Or you could create profile tabs that work as links to a standard post archive page.
Those links could include the user_id as a $_GET var which you use as the value for the author parameter in theWP_Queryinstance on the archive page.
But those links would be in the form of
http://www.mysite.com/posttype1/?user=2In reply to: post type –> buddypress supportSince your example urls would lead to a member profile page, you want a custom page for members.
The page is available thru a tab on the member page nav.
Since you have 2 post_types, you may want sub-tabs.
Example for adding tabs and sub tabs.
That custom page should useWP_Queryto loop thru the post_type posts for that user.In reply to: Adding profile fields to members directoryTry:
function add_info_to_members_loop() { $field_content = bp_get_member_profile_data( 'field=the field name here' ); if( $field_content != false ) echo "label: " . $field_content; } add_action( 'bp_directory_members_item', 'add_info_to_members_loop' );In reply to: Buddypress questions on Learning Management SiteYou don’t need to edit the ‘second’ file.
It’s just for unit tests and therefore is not included in official releases which is why you can’t find it.In reply to: Buddypress questions on Learning Management SiteI have tried changing the register.php, to no avail.
Is this the file you mean?
buddypress\bp-templates\bp-legacy\buddypress\members\register.phpWhere are you trying to change it?
You should be creating a template overload of that file.
All of your items are doable.
If your changes do not appear, it is probably something specific to your theme.
To confirm, just switch to a WP theme like 2013 and review the register page.In reply to: BuddyPress 2.4.0 – PietroGreat release.
Cover photos are cool and get a lot of understandable attention.
But the new member types functionality is very tasty.
And the companion style sheets – 2013 never looked so good!In reply to: Get all field names and idsTry using
function groups_get_groups– found in bp-groups/bp-groups-functions.phpIn reply to: Display image for paid membersOnly the image in false is being returned for all users including paid members.
Then
ms_has_membership()is returning false.
Are you sure you’re using it correctly?
Maybe you need to pass a user_id?
if so, tryms_has_membership( bp_displayed_user_id() )
As it is a custom function, we have no idea how it is written.In reply to: Disqus IntegrationIs there a better looking bp comments plugin with some better styling?
I’m not aware of any. You could adjust or add css to change the styling.
…the bp activity stream will not pick up these comments.
You’ll need to use bp_actvity_add() to do that.
Your theme may have a hook you can use – ask them.Something in your theme is adding a call to the comments template.
Look in the code for something like:comments_template( '', true );In reply to: Disqus IntegrationIf you mean BP comments in the activity stream – then the answer is maybe but the effort would be extreme and not worth it.
In reply to: Please Help Warning: strstr(): Empty needle in /homeThe issue is being caused by something in your theme or some other plugin.
Do you have debug turned on in wp-config.php ?
define('WP_DEBUG', true);If so, change it to:
define('WP_DEBUG', false);In reply to: Hide Buddypress pages from google serch.The list goes in robots.txt, not htaccess
In reply to: multiple duplicate member-to-member messagesIt may be a theme issue.
To confirm – try switching to a standard WP theme like 2015 and then test message sending.In reply to: Breaking Media and a few other things: error messageHow are you creating the custom taxonomy pages?
re: ‘We get this annoying error’ – yes it is annoying.
It also indicates that something is calling BuddyPress or a WP user function too early in the load process – usually via a hook.
Unfortunately, many themes and plugins do that and there is no warning – but BP will issue the warning.
Tracking down the culprit can be difficult.That warning notice will not appear if you are only using WP and BP with a standard WP theme like 2015.
bbPress has its own support forums.
Check your settings re ‘throttle’ in wp-admin Settings > Forums
In reply to: Custom Hook HelpI just tested it and it works properly. [ Don’t use an ‘exit’. ]
function test() { echo "<br>test worked!<br>"; } add_action('bp_after_registration_confirmed', 'test');Are you using a custom register page?
If so, does it have the do_action hook you’re trying to use?Also try it with a standard WP theme like 2015.
That info is out-dated.
Look in the BP files for examples of writing a class that extends BP_Component.
For example:class BP_Notifications_Component extends BP_Component {inbuddypress\bp-notifications\classes\class-bp-notifications-notification.phpNo need to use multisite. It will create more problems than it solves.
I have already built the CPT as a plugin.
Rewrite it as a BuddyPress component. Make it part of the member profile.
