I also see no settings even remotely close to what you’re saying, @brycejune.
The widget has no role settings, and the Buddypress settings page has two options for Activity:
Post Comments: Allow activity stream commenting on posts and comments
Activity Auto-Refresh: Automatically check for new items while viewing the activity stream
There are no role-related settings for BP that I can see anywhere. Please elaborate and provide specifics/screenshots if possible.
Now, I assume the Latest Activity widget is supposed to show the same info as sitename.com/activity, which does show all the latest activity. Is this not correct?
I found some options I didn’t know existed, under the Appearance settings. If I change the groups listing to more than one column, it shows the full description of the group. At least it shows the full descriptions I have.
I think the default listing needs to be corrected though.
So I added more text to that description field, and it shows a lot more than it did. Doesn’t make a lot of sense that a two word description barely shows up, but a longer description shows 12+ words. It’s almost as if the truncation is counting from the end of the string instead of the beginning. In fact, it’s truncating about 12 characters from the end of the string. Tested with two different descriptions.

I was hoping to add some of the BP links, such as favorite, to content, such as video posts. I’d like other users to be able to favorite a post or an author so they get notified when that author posts something new.
